The building is exquisite, inside and out, and the classical artwork on display is wonderful and quite diverse. Many regions and time periods are represented. Wonderful views of the city over the golf course next door, and views of the Golden Gate from the west side. If you like classical organ music, don't miss the free concerts Saturday and Sunday... Could stand additional signage for those who are not familiar with the area. Beautiful area with beautiful vistas. A great place to recharge and tour something with fewer individuals.

Beautiful Building and be sure to get your pictures with the statue of The Thinker. Inside and out the structure and its surroundings are amazing.

This is a beautiful building, and has several other notable items nearby worth visiting, including a very moving Holocaust memorial. It has nice views and pretty gardens, but otherwise there isn't much to do.

On a rainy day in San Francisco, we visited the Legion of Honour by the Presidio. The vision of an American sugar heiress (the term "sugar daddy" originated with her much older, sugar magnate husband), this private collection holds many amazing art gems. For starters, it is wonderfully laid out to feature the largest collection of Rodin sculptures outside of... More

Dwarfed a bit by its grander companion museum (the DeYoung), the Legion of Honor has its own charms. First, it's manageable because it's not huge; you are not trying to take in 50 mummies, for example. It has a good sampling of medieval, baroque, British/French, Romantic, etc. art, plus artifacts from ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome--and some Rodin sculptures. They have... More

Worth a visit just to see the large Rodin's Thinker. Museum has lots of other art and sculptures. Roman style building.

This testament to a community from a benefactress who cared was truly memorable. The spaciousness allowing for uncluttered display of works of art that my wife and I believe equal many better known national European and North American museums was unexpected and welcome indeed.

This museum is well worth the trip. It is a gorgeous building, full of amazing art, but with an atmosphere which is not overwhelming, so you can breathe and relax and take it all in. Some very stunning artwork.

This museum perched on a hill in Lincoln Park overlooking San Francisco Bay, the Golden Gate Bridge and the city is beautiful on the inside and outside. It is worth the trip so plan several hours and then visit its café for very good food. There are many beautiful paintings, statues, a wonderful porcelain gallery and other beautiful art. Outstanding... More
