- Stacey L1 contributionCarly- Front DeskThe hotel lobby fall decorations were AMAZING!!! So ascetically pleasing when you walk-in. The hotel is conveniently located in Union Square with great shopping within walking distance, the trolley stations are near the entrance of the hotel and drop off from the trolley at the front entrance. The smell and cleanliness of the facility were superb, from the bellman, staff at the Oak Room for breakfast and our room attendant was extremely kind and made our room welcoming. We had an unfortunate experience at check in, But a special thanks to Carly at the front desk who helped turn our frown upside down, her kindness and professionalism made our experience more enjoyable, her assistance with management help resolve the problem in a timely manner. Thank you to Carly for an amazing experience at such a beautiful facility. I hope she continues to strive to greatness and success in her position as a front desk representative.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 29 October 2023
- 425melodybSan Francisco, California7 contributionsPerfect Getaway!Excellent service from the time I pulled up. Elaine at the front desk checked us in and out, by us, I mean my chihuahua Violet, and I. Elaine was so professional and polite. She explained all the great perks the hotel offers. They have a great package for those of us that have fur babies! Violet loved the free treats! My room had a great view of Union Square, and the room, bed, and furniture were very comfortable! The room was quiet and location perfect. I ordered room service for breakfast and it was fabulous! I’ve stayed at other hotels in the city, and none came close to the great service at the St. Francis! I look forward to my next stay!Visited March 2024Travelled soloWritten 3 March 2024
- Dan C1 contributionColbert VisitThis hotel exceeded my expectations in all areas from check in time check out! I was able to check in early, received a free buffet breakfast, free water at the front desk, drink coupons, cable car coupons and so much more! Within walking distance to everything. I'm looking forward to a return visit. Jeff Aquino, Concierge, was excellent! Youll' enjoy your stay here!Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 1 April 2024

I travel several times a year and stay in all sorts of hotels etc., so this is not my first rodeo.
Pulled up.... no porter to help with luggage. A cleaning person came out with the cart for us. Had to load the luggage ourselves and take it to our room
Got in the room and the windows were so dirty we could just about see out of them
Changed rooms and put everything away and then noticed the sheets had food stuck to them. They had no one in house keeping so we had to change the sheets ourselves
The rooms smelled like they used an old vacuum cleaner the last time they cleaned the room
The Heater would run for 5 min shut off or 5 min and continued this way all night
No room service at all
The dust on the headboard was so think I don’t think it’s ever been cleaned
They closed all the doors so you could only exit and enter via the garage entrance
The hotel restaurant was closed due to Covid but they could have at least stayed open for take out or room service
The sidewalks outside the hotel smelled like urine ... (other places power wash the sidewalks outside to take care of this problem)
The only good thing it was close to shopping
It’s a shame that this landmark is no better that a 2 star motel

We stayed here as a family of four, including two children, an elementary school student and a kindergartener. We were very grateful for the kind and polite service. This was 35 years ago. I still remember going up in the glass elevator and going to the bar for drinks.

When reserving rooms for Executives, it can be challenging as meetings, events, weather, and just life can affect when someone checks in. Azucena was so accommodating. She responded quickly, heard and handle my concerns with grace.
I look forward to working with you next year.

I stayed there early April 2024 for a week, the hotel had zero cleaning staff. Management refused to work with me. She kept referring me to housekeeping instead of managing. When they did clean, the cleaning was incomplete and the room was still dirty. Dried wine in glasses, no Kleenex, no fresh towels. Very disappointed as I have stayed at this hotel for years. They seem to only cater to airline personnel. Beware booking this hotel.

After many visits to San Francisco over the years, this was our first time staying at the Saint Francis. I have always wanted to stay here and visit did not disappoint. We had a very nice front room on the top floor, overlooking Union Square - can't get much better than that! The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect for a trip to central San Francisco.

We liked the service, history, and architecture of this classy Union Square hotel in San Francisco. It is at a very good location. The rooms are nice There is also many areas for group functions and meetings. Its on the cable car route so its easy to get around to other areas of San Francisco.

The main part of the hotel survived the earthquake and was, of course re-built and is now a landmark. It's right on Union Square and looks great with the ever-changing flags. Take a peak inside as the architecture is old fashioned and unique.

An incredibly well located and very quiet hotel, in a very chic and elegant style. Great service, with a special mention to Ann, David (the best Concierge ever) and the whole team of the hotel bar. Nothing to say, just wow
