About
Climb to the top of San Francisco’s tallest skyscraper to get panoramic views of the city and bay from 1,070 feet high. Created by renowned architect César Pelli, this 61-story obelisk-shaped tower serves as the office for Salesforce and occasionally opens up to the public for tours and viewings on its highest floor. Slots are limited though, so book as soon as they are available to secure your spot. Even if you're not able to head up the building, you'll likely pass by the tower on a guided city tour of San Francisco. – Tripadvisor

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great panoramic views of san francisco on the highest building in town, and a great cafe (employee/guest only), the best cafe and place for work. The display in the lobby is nice too. good memory

Between the sleek architecture, rooftop garden and access to most of the transit I need on my visits, this has become a favor spot of mine. Part of me misses the old Transbay Terminal and the green streetcars, but this is a much needed improvement. And the best part is that my bus from SFO stops a short walk from the bus I take to my hotel in the Richmond.

I am admittedly biased because I work for Salesforce, but the new tower is absolutely spectacular. I had the opportunity to go to the top floor — floor 61 — last week and it is truly breathtaking. In true salesforce fashion that floor will be open for the public and the community to enjoy eventually and you should take advantage of it if you get the opportunity to go up there. It’s a view of San Francisco that is truly unforgettable.

I do not care for the architecture of the buiding, but then as a native San Franciscan I am not in favor of buildings ruining our beautiful skyline. That said, the concept of the gardens and bus terminal not only unique and beautiful, but served an essential purpose.

I signed up for a couple of tickets to go to the top of Salesforce at the end of September. Being in San Francisco, the biggest concern whether we would see anything if the fog rolled in.

It was a patchy cloudy day and looked like it would clear out by the time my wife and I reached the top. The “helpers” were very hyper and excited that we were there. A quick verification of our appointment with ID and a walk through the security detector was done expeditiously .

At the top, it was a nice view but not spectacular. Full disclosure , I have been to the top of Taipei 101, Willis Tower and the Burj Khalifa and those were spectacular views. San Francisco, not so much yes, you see the Bridges , Bay and the smaller buildings in the area but it did not excite us. The room was clean and had restrooms.

We could have stayed for an hour but were bored after 20 minutes. We took the elevator down by ourselves and were met with confused faces at the bottom.

“Everything OK, don’t you want to stay longer”
“ Don’t you think it was great”

These were the questions thrown at us. We exited the building and felt it was a one and done.

Since the Salesforce Tower is the tallest building in San Francisco, the Ohana Floor (floor 61) offers unobstructed view of the entire city, the bridges, and the bay. It is even better than Twin Peaks since it is located right where the action is. Best of all, it is free. However, currently it is open to the public only one day a month when 4 tours are offered, each lasting one hour. So if you want to visit the Salesforce Tower when you are in town, prepare to be disappointed unless you have made your reservation months, or maybe a year in advance. Also the window is a little on the dirty side and the smog/.fog makes all distant objects look hazy and washed out when looking through a zoom lens. Still, if you don't mind these minor shortcomings, a visit to the Salesforce Tower is definitely worthwhile.

Well you can't miss it. It's now the tallest building in SF and it sticks out from all perspectives. In my opinion, the design is nothing special, but it is also not ugly. But it is big! Corporate HQ.

Salesforce Tower is now the dominant building one sees when viewing the San Francisco City View. Its a corporate building. One can visit the gardens at the building.

We were fortunate enough to have a friend who works at the tower and got us inside to the 61st floor to oversee the city!
He also recommended we check out the park above the street...5 acres of over 300 plant and tree species.
Pretty cool to see!

It's one-stop shopping for all of the major SF landmarks: Bay Bridge / Alcatraz / GG Bridge / Oracle Park / Ferry Building / Chase Center.

Tour ends promptly at the end of the one-hour time slot. If you have time beforehand, line up early. It takes time to go through the registration desk, and security. The earlier you go through that process, the more time you get to spend enjoying the view. So the maximum viewing time you will have, is one hour.

I took the 1PM tour. There are some challenges, trying to take photos of the jaw-dropping view:

1. Windows are dirty
2. There are reflections off the inside of the windows.

So your photos may be uninspiring, compared to your brain factoring those two out while you sight see.

There are a couple hundred people on each tour, but there's a decent amount of room to spread out without bumping into each other. And there's a nice assortment of chairs, benches and couches if you want to spend part of the short tour time to relax and soak up the view from one side of the building.

And you probably know that you have to sign up for the tours, months in advance. They book up very quickly when they release the next series of tours.

Also recommend you check out the rooftop garden at the adjacent transit center.
