Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Between de Young and Academy of Sciences, this is a grand plaza.

Originally developed for an 1894 International Exposition Fair, the space was subsequently re-purposed as a public area for music performances.

The centrepiece is the impressive Spreckels Temple of Music that was gifted to the city by the sugar magnate. It is an outstanding architectural construct that has undergone extensive renovations following damage in the two earthquakes.

Many musical stars have performed here including the inestimable Luciano Pavarotti.

We went to the Muisc Course Area of Golden Gate Park. Its the park area between the de Young Museum and the Californa Academy of Sciences.

It was originally put in place for the California Midwinter International Exposition of 1894.

There are statues and fountains to see. One of the major areas is the Spreckels Organ area. It is called the Bandshell" and was a gift from sugar magnate Claus Spreckels.

There is a large parking garage underneath the Music Concourse area. Its a great place to park if one visits Golden Gate Park with a car.

A large open air area between three highly visited Golden Gate Park sites (De Young Museum, Japanese Tea Garden and the California Academy of Sciences).

Lots of picture opportunities. During the week it is primarily an area for photos and resting on benches. From April to October, The Golden Gate Park Band plays concerts at the bandstand (Temple of Music) at 1 pm on sundays. Other concerts take place here also for a full schedule check the Golden Gate Park website.

This concourse sits right between the California Academy of Science and the De Young Museum. It was a nice break from the craziness of the two museums and is full of statues and places to sit. It also has a stage area for performances. Fun spot.

This was amazing, beautiful. There is so much to experience in this area, and they even have vegan hot-dogs. One of the best places in San Francisco.

Having arrived early before the California Academy of Sciences opened I had time to wander around the music concourse with its pollarded trees under which the local Chinese perform their morning Tai Chi, which is performed in silence, so is quite relaxing to watch.
The Temple of Music at one end along with the fountains and the statues (none of whom have anything to do with Golden Gate Park) make it a relaxing place to wander.
