A really impressive building and as a tourist, I would have loved to have gone inside and understood more it’s significance in not only the gold rush, but the growth of San Fransisco. Those who run SF, think about it as a tourist attraction

It's closed to tours, but the outside is very cool, you can walk around it. There are some nice spots around to sit and enjoy, including sitting down with a coffee.

We were not able to enter the building as it was not open to public. This historical building played a significant role during the California Gold Rush. The building looked very grand from the outside. Well worth taking some nice photos.

Interesting old building in a San Francisco / American landmark. But today the building is a wasted opportunity. Locals and tourists alike would love to go in and see this very important historical building, but it's not open to the public.

The old Mint now stands empty, a sad reminder of how some of this cities historic landmarks can be ignored. This building saved SF after the quake of 1906, being the repository of all the bullion in town, and reports of SF being ruined were...More
