It starts with the impressive building with large glass walls in several floors; you can also get seats behind the orchestra so that you see the conductor. It continues with an extremely varied program of music and other events. Some in the “other” category are...More
What a treat to see Michael Tilson Thomas conduct all 3 parts this Sunday afternoon! The first piece, Inverno in-ver was forgettable. Yuja Wang playing, " Piano concerto in D minor for the left hand" was dazzling. Applachian Spring, a slightly different version I'd never...More
I went to the Opening night Gala with Itzhak Perlman and it was a really amazing experience. The building itself is lovely and the music was amazing. The attendees were all in formal wear, so it was a pretty glitzy event. Also, the balconies of...More
We went to the Empire Strikes Back concert by the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and it was one of the most amazing nights ever for us. It's a beautiful building and the sound was perfect which tied in perfectly with the film.
When you attend a concert where one of the world’s best Orchestras conducted by one of the world’s best Maestros performing a masterpiece of classical music, ninth symphony of Dvorák, you can imagine how wonderful was that night.

Civic Center is the seat of power for all things government and performance-related in the city. Although its streets are best walked during daytime, numerous cultural gems are within close proximity to one another. The symphony, opera, ballet, and jazz center offer year round entertainment within the shadow of the city’s Beaux-Arts crown jewel: the gold tipped dome of City Hall.

Sorry, I don't know. I'm from Australia & booked with the box office in advance so as not to miss out. However I did notice a few vacant seats the night I attended so probably no problem for a last minute ticket.
