But also pretty boring shows. I've gone twice, and both times walked out feeling like I wasted hours of my life. Also really uncomfortable seats.

My friend and I had tickets for Wagner's The Ring. The first night the performance was just over two hours without intermission and it was physically painful to sit in the chairs that long. The seats are old and there is no lumbar support. Also...More

We were doing a city tour thru the classic buildings in this area and this was one of the stops. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed much past the front vestibule inside but that was far enough to get a feel for the character of the building....More

Very disappointing, especially after several good reviews. A third of the audience left after the intermission, many open seats. No real plot, monotonous use of historical quotes, many without context

The staging, talent and the opera house itself are all spectacular. We saw Turandot and the entire experience was eye and ear candy. We had orchestra seats and they were worth every penny. My opera experience is limited but I can't imagine much more that...More

Civic Center
Civic Center is the seat of power for all things
government and performance-related in the city.
Although its streets are best walked during daytime,
numerous cultural gems are within close proximity to
one another. The symphony, opera, ballet, and jazz
center offer year round entertainment within the
shadow of the city’s Beaux-Arts crown jewel: the gold
tipped dome of City Hall.
