On June 7, 1974, Steve Silver produced a small show in the back room of the Savoy Tivoli Restaurant in San Francisco. The show was to run for six weeks. That was over 37 years ago... Today, Steve Silver's Beach Blanket Babylon has the distinguished title of "World's Longest Running Musical Revue." The show - a musical spoof known internationally for its extravagant costumes, outrageous hats, show-stopping numbers and hilarious puns of pop culture and political character - has been seen by over 5.5 Million people, including HRC Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall as well as some of Hollywood's biggest stars. "Steve Silver's Beach Blanket Babylon," hailed as "a constant cascade of showstoppers" by the "San Francisco Chronicle", follows Snow White as she takes a fast-paced journey around the world in search of her "Prince Charming." Along the way she encounters a star-studded, ever-changing line-up of hilarious political and pop-culture characters including Donald and Melania Trump, Adele, Hillary & Bill Clinton, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, President Barack & Michelle Obama, Hamilton, Bernie Sanders, Sia, Taylor Swift, Vladimir Putin, Chris Christie, Barbra Streisand, Miley Cyrus, Orange is the New Black, Empire’s Cookie, Oprah and the San Francisco Giants

We loved our show. The cast is talented and funny. Costumes are incredible and cannot be described, must be seen to be experienced! The venue is casual and fun. Even standing in line waiting for the doors to open (which you should plan to do)...More

We (myself & 2 sisters & our mother) attended the 2 pm show on Saturday. Bit of a lineup to get in but once in, we were efficiently shown to our side balcony seats by an usher. Our seats were quite comfortable (but close together)...More

A unique and fabulous evening of song and dance only found in San Francisco. Saw it 30 years ago and it was even better this time. Try to get seats facing the stage directly. If you have the money, buy reserved seats. If not, arrive...More

We heard about this show through a SF city tour guide and it was absolutely hysterical! All the actors were superb.... Very typical humor that covers a cross section of Americana music, politics, fashion, etc. No sacred cows here. The music and voice talent are...More

Five star show...brilliant cast, songs, costumes! Thoroughly recommend. Unfortunately the experience was soured by a few things: 1) Despite unreserved seating there was an entire row of seats in our section blocked off for a reservation. 2) The seats we ‘chose’ were on the back...More

We went to this show based on a recommendation from American friends we were staying with. They had seen it about 40 times and thought it was hilarious. We thought it was puerile. There were some good voices amongst the cast but it felt like...More

This is my third time at SF's iconic Beach Blanket Babylon and it is as creative as ever!! Lovely parody of culture sports and politics. It always changes with the times and cultural events. A must see for tourists and locals a like.

The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian
ristorante come together to create the charming
neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.

Generally, although it's probably a better idea to call Yellow or Uber or Lyft for a faster ride after the show.

Capital Steps is all political. This show is just funny, with a little political humor thrown in. They are constantly updating the show to reflect current events. Very funny!

The reason behind our 21+ policy Wednesday-Saturday is because we serve liquor. It is like a bar in that respects, we cannot have anyone under 21 during the shows where we have alcohol.
