I am from Pennsylvania, and looked up cool things to do while visiting my daughter. We drove to "Billy Goat Hill", but one of the neighbors had cut the swing down. If we waited a week it might be back up. This place has lots of people with dogs. We thought we saw a wild one up there. So off... More

Easy drive to the park at the top of the hill. Use Waze. Park and get out to walk around the perimeter of the hill. There are lots of hikers and dog walkers there. You won't be alone! On a clear day you will see the Pacific, the entire city and the bay. I didn't try it on a foggy... More

We didn't expect that this is the best spot to view the whole landscape of San Fransisco when our son took us there. We had nice weather on the day and were rewarded with beautiful and spectacular views if San Fransisco. We could see Bay Bridge but not the Golden Gate Bridge as it was covered by the fog. This... I had the clearest day and the view was incredible. You can see the whole of San Fran from up there and all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge. Bernal Heights is a lovely neighbourhood too with lots of nice cafes and shops too.

Bernal Heights is a nice residential neighborhood with good local character and its central street, Cortland, filled with restaurants, cafes, stores, a market, a library, etc.

Having lived in San Francisco for over 11 years, I've found Bernal Heights as a perfect mix of being close to everything yet having a little peace and quiet to retreat to. There's also a nice steep hill for some exercise to get your heart pumping with the reward of an incredible 360 view of the city. One of the... More

Came to this neighborhood for the first time ever to visit family and fell in love with it immediately. It's beautiful, quiet and has everything you need in walking distance. We really loved it! The highlight was hiking up to the park and taking in the amazing views! And, if you are a dog lover, even better! Lots of walkers... More

We stayed in the neighborhood and easily saw why locals jog and walk their dogs here! Awesome views that changes constantly throughout the day. Easy access, it was actually a steeper street walk up to the park than once arrived to the entrances! Not meant for many cars to park here. Which is fine since tour buses would destroy this... More

Bernal Heights hill is an amazing way to see the city. The climb up to the top was really fun, and well-graded (all things considered). The view was really incredible. We went up on a clear afternoon and it felt like we were seeing the whole city. Highly recommend both the hike and the sight.

As a SF native, Bernal Heights hill is truly a gem. The hill doesn't get as congested as Twin Peaks and offers a true 360° view. Conveniently located near Cortland St. shops and restaurants, you're in for a true San Francisco experience.
