This beach is adjacent to Cliff House area and the Beach chalet brewery. They sit at pacific ocean seaside mouth to Golden Gate Park. Lovely drive through the park to get to museums and botanical gardens. Amazing part of SF City.

This beach is awesome because you almost always have it all to yourself. If you have a dog take her/him here ;it would be cruel not to.

For a change, we stayed in a BnB 1 block from the beach - in the area between Noriega and Stoat (the Zoo). This southern part of Ocean Beach was pretty empty, with dunes between the beach and the "Great Highway" running along the shore. The dunes offer a bit of a windbreak plus a little bit of isolation. This... More

This was our favorite thing in San Francisco. We spent the morning walking the shoreline collecting tons of sand dollars and a few other shells. The beach was perfect. There weren't many tourist on a Monday morning, just a few locals with their dogs or fishing. We had an amazing layer back morning!

Time to clear your mind! Ocean Beach is a clean break from the city bustle, especially if you are in town for a Moscone Center conference. A transit ride away and you can see clear to the horizon with nary a building in sight. Take the Geary 38 bus or the N Judah trolley from Market and Third Street to... More

Not the greatest beach for sunbathing, but if you just want to be by the ocean, hear the crushing waves, feel the fresh breeze of the sea and have sand running through your toes, then this place will do fine. This is the only beach I have visited where I have observed sand dollars (whole ones not damaged). This would... More

I did not realize there was a real beach between the Golden Gate Park and the Presidio and Land's End. We took the drive down the coast road and it was absolutely fantastic.. I could have spent 8 hours on that beach had I known how beautiful it was .

San Francisco's Ocean Beach can get cold and foggy. When the weather is right, this place is a treat for surfers, beach walkers or sun bathers. The beach is nice to walk. The view from the Cliff House is better. You can see the waves and the sun hitting the waters. The beach is conveniently located next to Lands End... More

When you get to the end of the line, you will be at the ocean. There's a health food store nearby if you need some snacks or treats (Other Avenues), and remember that this is the part of the city that most likely will be fogged in even if downtown is sunny. A great place to run or walk. Close... More
