There was a national conference at the Maritime History Museum this week and the staff was amazing in their skills, their knowledge, and their service. This is a national treasure right on the bay. It may not be super glitzy, but it is deep and...More

Although I am not a museum person, this was a very interesting (and free) place to visit. It is right by Ghiradelli Square, and well worth visiting. Great views from the walkway too.

So close to pier 39, we took a look and were amazed at the history presented in this small museum. Highly recommended!

Under restoration but first floor done, beautiful, remarkable tile work, architectural art work. Free. Takes maybe 30-45mins, right on swimming beach. Very much worth walk over from Fisherman. Can't wait to see full restoration.

We popped in here briefly - more by accident really. But what a lucky find. The museum had an excellent exhibition of early photos of ships, fishermen and people's lives from about 1850-1910. A free exhibition and very interesting. It won't take more than half...More
