The world’s only aquarium-planetarium-rainforest-living museum. Come nose-to-beak with penguins and parrots, watch sharks and sting rays cruise beneath your feet, and feel the spray of the California coast. Fly to Mars (and beyond the Milky Way!) from the safety of your planetarium seat, take a virtual safari in African Hall, or climb into the canopy of a living rainforest. Face your fears—and an albino alligator—inside the Swamp, and meet scientists as they return from research expeditions around the world. From the depths of a Philippine coral reef to the outer reaches of the Universe, it's all inside the California Academy of Sciences.

Wonderful way to spend a day. This place is so colorful. Turn off your flash. Everything here is behind glass and you won't get good pictures with a flash.

We went here because we had city pass tickets. So glad we came! The rainforest exhibit was amazing, and some of the aquarium exhibits rivaled Monterey Bay's!

Nice museum in a nice building. Small compared to museums in Chicago NYC and DC. Its all about the night life here. A lot cheaper to get in and a lot more fun.

This was such a great experience! If your kid is into science or nature it's a winner. Parking is quick and easy, park near the elevator and roll your supplies on up. I would recommend a warm sleeping bag and a blow up mattress. Take...More

Try to make reservations for the evening tour with cocktails and food. Small groups are guided through the entire museum, great way to spend an evening.

Had a two hour visit to this museum located in Golden Gate Park. Not a must do, but it was very interesting. I went on a week day so there were lots of school groups in the museum.

It was very expensive. We were there for a couple of hours and it cost $22. Don't park in the garage! There is street parking just drive around some. It's free to park on the street.
