I visited at dusk and it was quite dark inside. This cathedral does not have the grandeur that many (most) of the european ones have - that is for sure! 2005

It's just like other Cathedrals. There's nothing special about it --- infrastructure-wise. There are places around the Cathedral where you can just sit and relax.

Fantastic example of high gothic architecture. A monument to AIDS and the deletion to love and tolerance characteristic of San Francisco. Don't miss the maze.

Wish we had time to take a tour of the inside of the building. Absolutely gorgeous and not far from China Town.

It's a majestic and soaring piece of Gothic architecture. It is a prime location atop Nob Hill. Equally captivating are the people outside walking the labyrinth at every hour of the day or doing Tai Chi on the Cathedral grounds. On a Sunday morning it...More

The Cathedral is beautiful. Unbelievable stained glass windows. Wish we had more time to study the paintings on the walls.

Quiet and beautiful. Some modern representations as well as older styles. Super history of the main events of the city around the walls. The walk to the cathedral was well worthwhile though it is on the cable car route.

Grace Cathedral, the principal Episcopal church in San Francisco, is located on the top of Nob Hill. It was begun in the early 1900s and is a beautiful example of Gothic architecture. All the windows are stained and the walls are generally decorated with mid-century...More

Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the
city and is home to amazing architecture and views.
The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for
those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be
rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful
architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated
with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all
were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that

Oh yes! As a matter of fact, Grace was one of the first places in SF which offered spiritual and emotional support to the gay community at the beginning of the AIDS health crisis. Grace is a loving and embracing place of... More
