Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Walk up to the top and visit Coit Tower, especially the great mural inside. The views from the top of the hill of the Bay and downtown are superb. The neighborhood around is special and real.

This hike was delightful! I learned so much I didn't know and I've been going to the Bay Area for decades. Dennis, our guide was raised in the area and new all sort of things. I won't ruin the surprise(s) for you, but take this tour! But be sure you can handle steps, the hills are steep.

We visited this hill (and went uphill and downhill) when visiting Coit Tower.
The view from the top of the hill is lovely.

Cool neighborhood with great views of the city and San Francisco Bay. Highlighted by a climb up Coit Tower and experiencing the Filbert Steps.

This is a cool neighborhood and a great place to walk around. The crown is Coit Tower which is worth a visit for the murals inside. And Grant Street is the shopping area for bars and restaurants. Lots of flavor on the streets.

This is an incredible place to visit at sunset (and I would imagine at sunrise as well), and a great vantage point for photos in all directions. We got some great shots down several long, steep streets which were bathed in golden evening light, several of which were postcard quality! You can also clearly see the San Francisco Bay Bridge, and some of the downtown business area as well. Coit Tower is in this area, and several streets with dead ends have beautiful homes decked in flowers to stroll past as you check out the views. One downside is that parking is a real pain. There is little room to even drive up some of the streets, much less park on them, and what parking is available seems to belong to the residents. We ended up just driving slowly around and around, hopping out of the car to take pictures as we went along. Check it out.

I love this location looking over San Francisco. It's kind of magical watching the boats come in on the bay. An absolute must for any visitor

One of San Francisco's unique neighborhoods, walk to the top, visit Coit Tower for the murals, and then descend the Filbert Steps. Linger to view the unique architecture and views all the way.

I highly recommend Mike Palmer of SF city guides walking tours. Who knew the stairs on the east side of Telegraph hill could have so much interest and intrigue? The neighborhood history was brought to life by Mike's genuine enthusiasm and knowledge.
