We used these streetcars for regular transport, rather than as a tourist attraction, as they're covered by the MUNI pass, plus they might possibly be the only available mode of public transport around the pier area. They are very well preserved, tho I was surprised...More

The "F" streetcar runs along the Embarcadero from AT&T ballpark to Fisherman's Wharf. These are historic streetcars that have been refurbished ad run well; however, on the weekends mid day they may be crowded.

It’s a nice “touristy” thing to ride a streetcar, especially when it was the same price as the bus ($2.75 per journey per person). Be sure to get a ticket at a bus station or bring exact change (or near enough) because none is given...More

Add these to your memory of San Fran! After walking for days, you will be glad to hop on for a quick ride back to your hotel. In 2018 it is $2.75 (or $1.35 for seniors) - quite a bargain! And the drivers are very...More

A great way to see the different areas of San Francisco. Attractive, old and varied trams of different colors are a great way to see the move.

They're not the most efficient mode of transportation in the city. Nor the cheapest, but you should take one for the experience.

We used the streetcars to get around where possible. Went all the way out to Castro one afternoon - it took about 40 mins but the ride was great. Used them to go to Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf too. Much better than the buses!...More

A must thing to do in San Fransisco. Be prepared to queue for a while - we waited over an hour to board a tram. I would suggest you buy day or 3 day tickets which are very good value, tickets can also be used...More

Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the
city and is home to amazing architecture and views.
The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for
those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be
rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful
architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated
with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all
were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that

Greetings Mel A, The Street Cars are completely different from the Cable Cars and MUNI buses. Street cars will share routes with the buses but not at all with the Cable Cars. If you google San Francisco's Historic Rail Lines... More
