I would recommend walking across the bridge and ferry back from Sausalito. When you get across and are headed down the hill go into the national park and into town that way. You can take a bus to the begining of the bridge or walk from the Presidio or Fisherman Warf.

What can be said that hasn't already been said? The Golden Gate Bridge is an amazing feat of engineering. The visitor center is a great place to park and take family photos. There is a place where you can take a picture with a section of the cable and read about who manufactured it. It's a great story of American... More

We were lucky to have a sunny clear day - unlucky because it was a holiday so it got crowded very quickly. Still enjoyed the view and the museum at the city end.

We parked up at vista point and walked over the bridge- fantastic views from the bridge! Was very busy and parking was difficult but worth it!

The bridge is a central figure in the bay area. We were constantly crossing it, or looking at it. Go to the museum, and see the bridge, China Town, see the bridge, go to Muir Woods, cross the bridge.

An icon you need to check out if you're in the city, simply because it's featured in so many films. We travelled across on the open back Red Fire Truck (an attraction I'd recommend everyday) which so added to the journey. You can stop off at view points near the 'entrance' to bridge but the scale of the bridge can... More

Did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did. Was more going so I could tick it off the bucket list. Well ... What an amazing day. We ended up walking across the bridge from the Sausalito side then catching our hop on and off bus back across the bridge and on into Sausalito. Got some amazing photos... More

It is fun to drive on but you must plan to take time to walk it so you can enjoy the true beauty of the bridge. Fun for all.

You must visit this attraction, and need to come here in the sunny days. The bridge gives us different impression in the morning or afternoon because of the lighting change. You can enjoy the view more than once.

Rented a bike from a place in Fisherman's Wharf. It took me about 2 hours to bike the bridge across and back to Fisherman's Wharf. Breathtaking views! I saw a beautiful sunset!
