The view looking out from standing on the bridge is awesome. If you can try and walk the entire distance of the bridge. It's like walking on water. It really is exciting.

What a beautiful bridge! The views are amazing. The bridge in itself is quite a view. The only thing I would say is to bring a very big coat as it is extremely windy up there because the bridge is so high up. If you...More

I checked out this bridge by push bike and thank God, I did. When I reached Fisherman's wharf, I walked into a store of Bay city bike and they showed me the nice bike/walk way around Golden gate bridge area. I followed their instruction and...More

It's always a treat to be in San Francisco. I've ridden over the bridge on a Harley in years past. This trip, a lovely view from Pier 45 while dining at Tarantino's upstairs.

Beautiful especially on a sunny day! Walking across takes 40 minutes and much easier, cheaper and quicker than renting a bike!

Golden Gate Bridge is the Landmark of San Francisco. The view from, under, above is spectacular. What kind of Engineering that built such a bridge more than 100 years ago. This got to be my favorite spot in San Francisco. This morning as I was...More

My husband and I drove to the Golden Gate Bridge while we were visiting San Francisco. We enjoyed the view from the GG Overlook and it was such an awe inspiring sight. There's a walkway that takes you all the way to the base of...More

You must walk across the bridge! The views are spectacular and we saw dolphins and two humpback whales! It was a little busy and crowded on a Sunday but I have a feeling it's always like that because of what it is.

If your in San Francisco you have to do this. Great viewing point directly below the bridge. Worth a crossing and a visit to the other side.

We rode across on the top of a double decker bus - wind was so incredibly strong I thought my glasses would blow off! Great experience! Fascinating finding out how they change the number of lanes in a direction with the Zipper.

Does anyone know if I can use my iPass from Illinois in place of Fastrak, since it appears you can no longer pay cash to drive across the bridge? All I could find when searching online was a 2014 article saying iPass might soon be accepted in CA. Hoping to avoid the fees from the rental car company by having my own transponder. Thanks!

I can't answer your question re ipass but we had a rental and we phoned the number on the website and paid over the phone. You can also pay on line it just wouldn't take our card as it's from the UK.

Hi! We crossed the bridge and stopped on the other end when going on a tour to Sausalito and the Muir Woods. Check EXTRANOMICAL TOURS.

Hop on any of the bus tours and they will take you across the bridge. BE SURE you plan on weather changes! San Francisco is notorious for its micro-climates and those buses are open air. The hop-on-hop-off buses allow you to... More
