Parking is a little limited and be very careful. A car in the same parking lot as us had its window smashed and items stolen. Otherwise, this park makes the bridge very accessible and the views are tremendous. Well worth the visit.

Finally able to cross the bridge listening to commentary and interesting facts. Top of bus was very windy but driver let us know ahead so we could ride inside. Wear sunscreen. Great views.

it was a nice bridge but wow it gets really windy. I would suggest taking a warm coat (even in the summer) and defintiely check out the little museum near the bridge.

We cycled and also drove across the bridge on separate days. The day we cycled the bridge was shrouded in fog and was really cold but that just added to the experience. Around lunchtime the fog lifted and the low cloud rolled in. Giving even...More

Sydney harbour, Brooklyn and Golden gate. All spectacular! Special mention to Manhattan too! Let's face it, you're going to see this if you come to San Fran, so I don't know why I or anyone is reviewing it... What might be useful? You can walk...More

If it's foggy (and that's a good chance) don't look for a beautiful view... or the two towers... you might miss them totally! But if you have a clear day, it's a beautiful walk or bicycle ride from one end to the other and back...More

The amazing Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco is a very surprising one. It is a bit separated from the city and many times it is hiding in the fog that frequently stays on the bay. A very nice engineering project of its time.

Walked over and back. Took less than an hour. Great views. One side for bikes and other side for walkers/runners. Can be very windy...you may lose your hat (like my friend did).

60 minute tour under the bridge is a great getaway from the busy Pier 39.There were whales reported in the bay but unfortunately we didn't see any.

Hi, approximately 20 min butik taxi. But 30 min biking from Fishermans Wharf is much more fun.

Hi, Howard. What would you like to know about this attraction? Im interested in walking the bridge but not sure how I would be able to get there and back from my hotel. Can you help?

We biked (rented from blazing saddles) and loved it! Personally I would do that again. But you could easily Uber, walk back and forth then walk back toward the wharf as far as you wanted then Uber the rest.

Does anyone know if I can use my iPass from Illinois in place of Fastrak, since it appears you can no longer pay cash to drive across the bridge? All I could find when searching online was a 2014 article saying iPass might soon be accepted in CA. Hoping to avoid the fees from the rental car company by having my own transponder. Thanks!

I can't answer your question re ipass but we had a rental and we phoned the number on the website and paid over the phone. You can also pay on line it just wouldn't take our card as it's from the UK.
