The history behind this is brilliant. If I remember correctly the first female firefighter. Left some money to the city when she died, she didn't want a tower but the committee spending the cash decided it was the best idea. The lift operator said she...More

We decided to walk up to the tower from the Ferry Building. it took a while but the views both of the city and the dwelling along the way up were fascinating. I recommended it, if you are up for it. The tower itself is...More

Great views of the city from this Interesting historical landmark. Be patient in looking for or waiting on a place to park your car; also be patient in the line to take the elevator up ($8).

Moderate wait for elevator to top of tower. Totally worth it. You can peek out at the GGB, The Wharf, Alcatraz, Angel Island, Oakland, Bay Bridge etc.

Fantastic tower. Just be prepared for lines on the weekend. The views were impressive and the murals moreso. Some of the locals were impatient with kids so be prepared.

I enjoyed the stroll up the hills to see this, and fascinated by the Amercian folk lore art inside. Bit of a wait to get up in the lift to the top but well worth it. DO go and see and enjoy pure Amercina 30s...More

North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian
ristorante come together to create the charming
neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.

I suggest you read what is written on the website, and, if you don't trust what you read, email (or call if you can locate a number), and ask?!
