What an informative tour. The tour is automated and quite interesting to learn about this submarine. There were some vets mid-tour who answered questions. It was fun to step back in time.

I'm a history nut so this was one of my "must see's" in San Francisco. My wife is less so, but we both really enjoyed touring this wonderfully preserved piece of history. The audio tour was great, it was good to hear the voices of men who had served and experienced live aboard WWII submarines. My hat is off to... More

Wonderful attraction, great to be able to venture into the world of a world war submarine. Highly recommend even for those that don't like museums, it's more fascinating than just old war stuff normally is.

Great. Hard to imagine being out to sea on a ship under such circumstances. Well kept ship. Incredible!

The exhibit and memorial were great reminders of how many men we had that were willing to be under the sea to serve our nation.

I loved hearing the voices of the people involved. It brings it alive on the recording to hear it. We were here on a school trip and a group of teenagers said it was worth going to. They were right.

As I have a tendency towards claustrophobia the thought of boarding a submarine never appealed to me. However, on a sunny day in SFO USS Pampanito, moored at her berth near Fisherman's Wharf, beckoned. My fears subsided as I climbed down the ladder into the engine room and began my tour of this fascinating machine. The engineering and equipment of... More

Visit a submarine from WW II. Great experience strolling through a real submarine with history of successful missions. One can see how sailors lived in confined spaces, sleeping literary over the stuck of torpedoes. It is a self guided tour with information over head phones. USS Pampanito is located at San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf

It is 20$ per person. They give you and ipod that guides you through the submarine and describes what you are looking at. The voices of several of the original crew members describe the day to day life and the dangers of their missions. The submarine is a good shape and very interesting, in special if you like mechanical devices... More
