This museum is excellent for those interested in Asian art and artifacts. Each piece is nicely displayed. This is more for those interested in art history and culture than fine art appreciation. Smaller museum, intimate, and informative. We went on a Friday, it was uncrowded...More

Loved this museum. The collection is gorgeous. Highly recommend a visit. I only had two hours, but was able to see everything (although I did not read all the descriptions).

The Asian Art Museum in San Francisco is one of my favorites of any I've seen in the US. The permanent collection is excellent. They also presents very good temporary exhibits. Well worth a visit or two. (First Sunday each month is free)

This was probably the best museum experience I had in San Francisco. Displays well presented and many unique items. Interesting to see local ethnic groups exploring their backgrounds.

The Asian has a very good collection of art from India, China, and Korea. They apparently have one of the best collections of Chinese bronzes outside of Asia. The arrangement of the collection is (from the top floor) roughly the order of the founding and...More

We went for the Korean Couture Exhibit, and it was exquisite. It is divided into three sections....traditional and historical, couture a la Chanel, and modern. Fabulous! The upstairs permanent exhibits are displayed by country and are a treat. Plan at least a couple of hours...More

Civic Center
Civic Center is the seat of power for all things
government and performance-related in the city.
Although its streets are best walked during daytime,
numerous cultural gems are within close proximity to
one another. The symphony, opera, ballet, and jazz
center offer year round entertainment within the
shadow of the city’s Beaux-Arts crown jewel: the gold
tipped dome of City Hall.
