St. Saviour is an historical Episcopal church. The oldest part of the church was begun in 1876; later parts were added through 1901, including the renowned collection of stained glass windows by Tiffany and others. The parish is still active today, and we invite you to visit for a tour, for worship, or just for a moment of quiet respite in your day.

During the tourist season (June - October), the church is open daily from about 8:30 - 5:00 for self-guided tours. Guided tours Sunday 11:15 (after the 10:00 Eucharist) and other times by appointment. The Church office (next door) is open Tuesday-Friday 8:30 - 1:30 year-round.

May God continue to bless you!

If only for a short tour, the interior of this church and its historic cemetery is worth the visit. Tiffany stained-glass windows abound; they alone would make a visit worthwhile!

Classic old New England style church, notable for the beautiful Tiffany stained glass windows. Free tour by local volunteer if you want.

The stained glass windows are awesome. Some of the windows are from the 19th century & made by Tiffany. The church welcomes you. It is very peaceful inside.

Sweet historic church. Apparently the oldest, largest and tallest public building on Mount Desert Island. Amazing Tiffany stained glass windows. Lovely dark post and beam vault with white ceilings. Tours were unavailable the day we attended. Worth a quick stroll through. FYI check out the Ye Old Burial Ground out back or take a moment to enjoy this peaceful site.

Diane, a docent, was there to tell stories and share her church. Tiffany glass, racy marble sculptures, thefts, and intrigue are all there. Go there, for free, hope you meet Diane, and buy some cards.

This is an old church with some history. The grave yard outside dates back to the early 1800's and you see names on the tomb stones that match up with the names of nearby streets. There is also the mystery of the stolen stained glass window to ponder.

We attended services here on a Sunday in August while visiting. August is not a good time to evaluate churches, but we enjoyed and appreciated the service. A member of the church gave a tour after the service which I highly recommend. This church is over a hundred years old and has incredible artwork and panels with lots of history.... More

We really enjoyed visiting this church. It's a bit unusual in style and has terrific stained glass windows. Several of them are real Tiffanies - and almost all of them are quite wonderful. A very knowledgeable and charming man came over to us an told us a lot about the church history and also pointed out the different Windows and... More
