Great hike! Muddy with lots of tree roots, but not too strenuous. 1.5 mile each way. Falls beautiful and kids enjoyed jumping off cliff into pool. Well worth the time.

The directions on the website are wrong and GPS doesn't seem to know there this place is. After a frustrating drive we finally found it and had no problem finding legal parking. The hike feels longer than it is because it's so hairy. As others said, lots of mud, roots, rocks, tree branches. It was really an adventure and fun.... More

This used to be one of my favorite hikes. It is now so overused and muddy that the danger is too great. On my final hike there, I slid in the mud and was injured. The State abandoned the trail due to the danger and inability to keep up with the traffic level. Only reason for two stars is the... More

My wife and I had a great time hiking up and dipping and diving. Wear sneakers!!! not flip flops. Bring water!. Maybe a snack. Leave by 4:30 as it gets dark. This is a MUDDY trail. You have to walk in the water at points. It is totally worth it to jump into the cool pool at the top. BTW... More

Street parking in a small neighborhood, respect the signs. Serious mud, like over the ankles. Try to find a walking stick, when we went there were some on the signs and I highly highly recommend using one. Bring extra clothes, plastic bags and extra water to rinse after. Longish hike and depending on how muddy the day is can take... More

This hike took my husband and me 3 hours to complete. The ground was so muddy and so uneven. We took our time because we were afraid of slipping. The hike itself isn't hard. The trees and the sounds of nature along the trail were unreal. Felt like we were in an episode of Lost. It's a beautiful trail -... More

This is not an easy hike and the wetter it gets the harder it can become. However it is not a major tourist hike and you will be able to enjoy some isolated hiking. With that said, the views are great but you need to be prepared so you can enjoy the hike. You should have water, mosquito repellant, towels,... More

The Maunawili Falls is very muddy when there are light showers. It is muddy and dangerous. If you go when it rains off and on make sure you wear dependable shoes. My friend wore flip flops. Her shoe broke and she had to track the rest of the way down bare foot. The only reason I went was because I... More

I have hiked several trails before nothing prepared me for this hike. We went early morning around 8am. The trail was empty and I often questioned if we were on the trail. We considered turning around twice. We kept going forward. Finally found man made steps. Be prepared for an unpaved, muddy trail. Crossed rocky rivers three times. Feet were... More
