We were there in January which is part of the big-wave surfing season, so many of the beaches were closed to swimming. But you could watch the surfers. Summer is the swimming season evidently.

A nice beach in Haleiwa area. Lots of tourists, some big waves from time to time. A nice setting. Many people go there for sunset, I found other places that i enjoyed more, China Walls near example. Some local food trucks were fun also.

We stopped here for lunch at the bunch of food trucks across the road. There is plenty of parking and a good selection of food from the trucks. North Shore Shrimp was particularly good. On the beach, there is a beach pool enclosed by rocks....More

The view is gorgeous, and the sense of the oceans power is very clear. This is a must see location. The surf and tide here is SCARY. Be careful and have fun.

A beautiful beach to catch some incredible surfing and a sunset! Parking is tight, but we found a place pretty easily in the late afternoon. In time for prime viewing!

Parking is at a premium so snag a spot wherever you can. Admission was free the day we were there but perhaps it depends on the event.
