The best luau on the island!
This luau was AMAZING! My husband and I went with another couple and we loved every second of it. We went early and toured the Waimea Botanical Garden and waterfalls. Our husbands took their swim trunks and a towel and got in the waterfall. It was beautiful! Then we changed clothes and went to the luau. It was so much fun. Cousin Billy and his family made us feel like their family. The food was delicious and more than enough. They came around several times asking if we wanted seconds or thirds of anything. We were in Hawaii celebrating my birthday and our anniversary. Tao Luau recognized both events and gave us gifts for both. The entertainment was amazing as well. I would definitely recommend going to this luau!!
Aloha! You don't know how much this review means to us, mahalo! We're glad that you had a an amazing experience at the luau and enjoyed the show. We're really grateful for the recommendation! Please visit us again the next time you're on the island. Mahalo nui loa!

    The Best Luau Experience!
Toa Luau was the best experience of our Oahu vacation. It started with hand-on experiences, carving taro root, peeling green bananas, scraping coconuts and other cultural experiences. Then we were served incredible food, followed by fabulous entertainment. The emcee was so entertaining as well as informative, sharing the cultural details with a perfect touch of humor. There were guests of all ages and everyone seemed to enjoy the whole experience. I highly recommend spending your day at the Waimea Valley area, including the Toa Luau!
Aloha and mahalo for writing us this review and for sharing your experience at the luau! We're glad that you had the best experience at the luau and enjoyed the show and the food. Mahalo for the recommendation, we greatly appreciate it! Hopefully we'd see you again soon! Mahalo nui loa!

    Authentic family tan Luau
From our Uber rider to the Luau we heard this was one of the most authentic Luaus left in Honolulu. Apparently some are discouraged by the distance and that’s not for no reason. It took us 60$ to get here and 95$ to get back after 8pm from Honolulu. Keep that in mind when considering driving here or taxi-ng here. Aside from the logistical issues, everyone was awesome here. The greeters, the servers, the performers, the bartenders and the mc! At the beginning we got to crack into a coconut, weave a head piece lei and watch them make coconut milk. I would do this again and again and again. Truly made me have appreciate the Polynesian culture and the richness of their traditions. I’m humbled by the hospitality they shared and their rich culture. Food was great! And there was plenty more as it was buffet style meaning you could be served more after. Everyone was extremely attentive in bringing you refills of water and food. You get dessert and truly I can’t think of a better way to have experienced something new while in Hawaii. I would recommend this event to anyone visiting Hawaii. You get an opportunity to tip your crew so bring your cash!
Aloha and mahalo for taking the time to share your experience at the luau, this is a great help to our guests. We're glad that you had a great experience at the luau and enjoyed the show, food, and your time with your Toa Luau ohana. Mahalo for the recommendation, we appreciate it! Hope you'd visit us again soon! Mahalo nui loa!

    Great fun, kind people.
All of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Toa Luau! The food was delicious and the music, dancing, and cultural learning experiences were all excellent. But what left the biggest impression on us was the kindness of one of the male performers. We have a three year old son with autism, and despite wearing his noise reducing headset, he was having difficulty with the loudness of the performances. The dancer noticed his struggle, and took a moment to reposition the speaker closest to our table to face away from us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! That meant a lot.
Aloha! Mahalo for taking the time out of your busy schedule to write us this review, we appreciate it! We're glad that you guys enjoyed the luau. We're sorry that your son had been struggling with the noise. Hopefully we'd see you again the next time you're on the island! Mahalo nui loa!

    Great evening entertainment
What a great night out with friends in Hawaii. The performances were interesting, informative and entertaining. The dances especially the fire dances were amazing. The pre dinner entertainment involving the audience in local crafts was fun and set the scene for a friendly, fast paced evening. Highly recommended.

This is a fantastic luau! You leave feeling like you were welcomed into the family. It is located at Waimea falls which is included in the price of the luau. It is a short walk to the falls where you can swim. The luau is done under a pavilion which is wonderful if you have inclement weather which we did. The food was fantastic and the entertainment was top notch without feeling plastic or overly done. The host does a terrific job and none of it feels rehearsed. Much more intimate than the larger luaus. There was a wedding party there that had gotten engaged the prior year at the same luau! That’s how welcoming and inclusive it is.

This was definitely a highlight to our vacation and we cannot reccomed the Tao Luau, enough. What is also a plus is that the price includes admission to Waimea Falls and Botanical Garden. There is plenty of time to enjoy the hike, swim in the falls and change in time for the Luau. We had a large party of 15 and it still felt intimate. From the moment you enter, you are greeted and directed by staff. Throughout the experience, everyone, including the "host" and MC took the time to get to know you and your family. The food was delicious and there was a lot to keep all kids engaged, ages 8-15 years. They even gave a shout out for my sister's birthday and our parent's wedding anniversary

IT. WAS. SO. GOOD. Do not leave Oahu without attending this luau. I have no idea how it doesn’t cost more money because I would have paid double what I did for this show. All of the cousins were so nice and informative. You can tell they all genuinely enjoy what they do, and if they don’t then they are great actors. If you’re considering other luaus- don’t. There’s a reason Toa doesn’t have mixed reviews like the others do- it is nothing short of spectacular. Shoutout to Jr teaching us more about the culture! Oh and free entry into the gardens with your ticket is an awesome added bonus! It was WELL worth the hour drive from where we stayed in Waikiki Beach and I will definitely go back when we visit Oahu again.

We wanted to do a luau to be complete tourists. We had been to a different one 20 years ago. When I saw that we could also tour Waimea Falls with our fee I chose this luau over the others.

We were not disappointed. The botanical gardens were nice, you can swim in the falls, and then head to the luau. Right from the start they made you feel like you belonged, and we were encouraged to take part in food preparation. The show was also very nice. Staff were amazing and funny.

Probably the best luau I’ve been to! Ultimately we chose Toa Luau because of the recent rave reviews from others, and we weren’t disappointed. The welcoming staff started our experience with open arms and a beautiful lei, and we felt like we were part of the family all throughout the experience. The dinner was phenomenal, all the way from the kalua pork to the coconut cream cake! The complimentary cocktails were sensational, much better than the typical mai tai. The pre-dinner cultural experience was very interesting and immersive. The performers were amazing and put on a fun show, especially with the fire show finale!

The whole staff was very conscious of the current COVID situation, and made every effort to provide an enjoyable experience despite any current restrictions. I am very glad we chose Tao Luau to end our Hawaiian vacation and would highly recommend them to anybody looking for an authentic and enjoyable evening.

The Toa Luau is really great. Well worth the price of admission. It started out with the staff presenting us with beautiful leis. We then had a cultural demonstration that included weaving cool leaf hats and cooking different foods. We saw the old-style of cooking with hot rocks and learned a lot about different cultures in the area. The food was great and the dancing show was amazing. The staff is incredible, we couldn't believe how much they did that night and we really appreciate the effort and results. Would go back for sure.

Everything in a Luau and a hike to the famous water falls you could need. The hike to the water falls is a great opportunity to take pictures and see the natural flowers and birds of Oahu. You’ll be ready for the luau when you get back! The food and stage venue are covered. That was a very nice surprise because most luaus aren’t covered.
Chief Jack helped us by applying a sliced onion to a bee sting my Padawan received and saved our entire evening. He was helpful and caring ! Thank you! The luau food was all around tasty! I ate everything! The entertainment is close up and personal. Yes, they have fire spears and dancing! Our favorite performer is Rita. Her charming personality and expert hula dancing kept us entertained and my Padawan princess felt like they were friends.
Aloha! Must see and experience this luau

Amazing! Best luau ever!! We brought our 5 young adult children to Ohau (ages-21, 23, 23, 23, 25) and they said it was their favorite thing of the whole trip. Food was great! The setting is gorgeous! We arrived at around 3:30 (plan for a 2 hour drive from Waikiki). We walked through the botanical gardens and then doors open at 4:45pm and you will want to be there on time. They usher you in and the cultural demonstrations start right away. They are really fun! This is a family-run business and you can tell they love each other and what they do. You will feel like family when the night is over. We would love to go back someday!!

Prior to arriving in Hawaii, I read a lot of luau reviews. I was tasked with booking the luau for myself and two girlfriends. I certainly didn't want to mess it up, because my friends were counting on me.

Ultimately, I chose the Tao Luau at Waimea Valley and it was the right choice.

As retired teachers, we really appreciated the educational experiences. We learned a lot about Polynesian Culture and traditions. The food was 'all you can eat' and it was VERY tasty. One plate was enough for us, but I did see others partake in seconds.

After dinner we took a 'trip' through the various Polynesian Islands and enjoyed the particular island’s style of dancing. The dancers were very talented and put it 'all out there' during their performances.

"Cousin Eddie" kept us laughing as he explained the customs and traditions. He then wowed us with his own fire dancing abilities.

Everything about our Tao Luau experience was fabulous from start to finish, and by far exceeded our expectations, on every level.

Finally, I can't close without mentioning what a lush, tropical, and beautiful setting Waimea Valley provides. This area is the Hawaii of our dreams!
