There seems to be much confusion about the Ali'i Fishpond and the One Ali'i Beach Park. The beach park is easy to find right off of Highway 450 around the 3 mile marker. Look for a large open field on the Makai (ocean) side of...More

Molokai's shallow flats along the south shore were ideal for building fishponds. At certain times of year the Hawaiians made fishing kapu. This was done to protect the resource. Hence, they used fishponds to provide the needed protein. Maintenance was and is a continual issue...More

We had a wonderful picnic lunch on a table under the trees, looking out at the water. Very peaceful, quiet spot the day we were there.

the water is shallow and waves are nearly not exhistant here. Makes this a great place for the little ones to play in the water with some sense of safety.

Disappointed in how it was touted - obviously of historical importance as a royal fish pond but I wasn't impressed with the fish pond (difficult to see) or the park.

My hubby and I rented bikes and happened across this park. It was beautifully stunning. We spent about an hour here just taking it all in. We were here in December of 2012, but it touched my soul and hasn't let go.

We hung out here on day trip to the island and it was so quiet and peaceful. We got in the shallow water of the fishpond and enjoyed catching some sun.
