This beautiful little church was the second church built by Father (St) Damien and is in its authentic state. Statue of Father Damien in the garden. Rectory next door. When canonized, his relic was brought here for a special Mass attended by one of the women he is credited for one of his miracles.

Lots of history in this little church. Make sure to stop and do some reading, and feel some of the residual spirit. I wish there were still masses held there.

I read a bit of the history of this church in "Tales of the Night Rainbow" and how the Native Hawaiians built this church for Father Damien so he would have a place for his God. (BTW, I recommend this book for Native history of Molokai.) It's a sweet and simple structure, and I think the Christ on the cross... More

Pretty little church built by Saint Damien. Has a statue of Saint Damien and a small graveyard. Picturesque drive to it and it is very pretty and calming. Nice place to take pictures.

While exploring the island, take time to visit this quaint church. especially if you were not able to go to the National Park. I had the place to myself. It comes up kind of quick on the side of the road so be watching your gps.

There's a pilgrimage to be made on Molokai. Adventurous sorts can take the mule ride down the cliff to Kaulapapa, or the more auto-inclined can travel the south shore. Like the others on Molokai this church was built by Father Damien's own hands. It's a simple church, not some grand edifice. A simple church for a simple religion.

It's worth the 11 mile drive to stand in this church build by St Damian's own hands. There is a simple beauty in the church. It was open for a visit. Outside the church is the iconic statue of the Saint.

Neat little tidbit of history in a setting away from any of the touristy crap that clutters more famous sites.

We were alone visiting this little church built by St. Damien when he was on Molokai around 1850. Seats about 20 people at the most. Sorry there are no scheduled masses here.
