We enjoyed the show, a representation of an island story, with great music and dancing. Lots of popcorn crunching in the theater. Less than 90 minutes. But discount tickets through any of the many vendors rather than direct from the house. Parking is nearby but...More

I was invited to Ulalena by a local Maui resident who has seen it numerous times. It is indeed a stunning show. Live music, mostly percussion, skilled dancers and inventive choreography. It is quickly paced so is also suitable for children, although not the noisy...More

This show is based on the legends of Hawaii. The music was beautiful, and performance was diverse and exciting. There were some kahiko (traditional hula) performances too. If you have any interest in Hawaiian music/culture/hula I definitely recommend this show.

Attended the December 28th performance. The show? Beautiful. The actors and musicians? Phenomenal. However, there are deliberate choices made by the theatre that completely took me out of the show. I couldn’t enjoy one single scene. 1. Popcorn and drinks are served. The sound of...More

This show gave an artsy view of the story of Hawaii. Thought Most of the show was in the Hawaiian native tongue, my 5 and 7 year old had no problem following the story line. The singing, dancing and music took us to a different...More

Had a second visit to Ulalena. The performance is passionate and sincere. A moving account of colonization through interpretive dance. Recommended ++. The ‘cirque’ elements are getting a bit (very) dated, however. *They have just started offering a dinner package with Ulalena. It was terrible...sadly....More

The show is below average, and therefore ridiculously over-priced. We were steered into attending by a hotel concierge and urged to buy premium seats in advance. Turns out we could have walked up and purchased similar seats for half the price. And that would STILL...More

The show was fun and the performers were great but when you pay $75 and someone tells you it is the Hawaiian version of Cirque du Soleil you are pretty let down when there is like one curtain dance and no other acrobatic performers. The...More

As a believer of maintaining culture and traditions pure through the generations, I honestly was hesitant to watch this presentation in fear that I would not enjoy it based on my beliefs. I was urged to go by a friend and I’m glad I went....More

Saw Ulalena this past week while on vacation. Show started about 25 minutes late-no reason given. Could have been to allow late comers to arrive, get their tickets and concession stand items (brutally slow). Performers, costumes and sets were very nice. However, not sure what...More

To answer the question about dinner after the Ulalena show. If you park in the Outlet lot across the St from the theatre, the theatre validates your ticket for 4 hrs. There are many nice restaurants on Front St. On trip... More
