A two-mile walk along Maui's northwest coast, the trail begins and ends on a beach. In between, you'll see spactacular oceanfront and bountiful greenery on the dramatic coastline.

Scenic walk along the coast with breathtaking views of big black volcanic rock, turtles taking an afternoon float, and amazing sunsets. The walk is more difficult near the end of the trail so make sure you have on good walking shoes.

Awesome Coastline. Waves crashing on jagged Volcanic rocks. Great photo opportunity. Watch your footing and never turn your back to the ocean.

We parked in a public parking lot that wasn't located to far from the Ritz Carlton. The very end of the walk was steep and rocky so some people were turning back at that point. I saw some breathtaking views on this trail.

Lovely hiking trail by the ocean's edge from Merriman's Restaurant to the Ritz Carlton hotel. Several areas of nesting seabirds and access to 2 beautiful beaches. Easy to moderate hike and wear good hiking shoes!

We are huge fans of hiking this trail. Not only does it provide stunning views of the neighboring islands but you can find a couple good cliff diving spots as well!

This is a beautiful walking/hiking trail. Most of it is paved, but there are parts that are not. You can even climb on some of the cliffs, and get great views of turtles swimming in the coves.

Do not miss this trail while at Maui. Breathtaking views of the ocean and the coastline and not to forget turtles! It is an easy walk, try going early in the day to avoid the heat.

Sneakers should be fine. The first part of the trail is suitable for all ages. There are some moderate hills if you venture out a little further.

Previous answers provide good guidance. I can only add that my wife had total knee replacement last September which healed perfectly. While there in March, she was actually more agile--and less concerned--walking the trail... More
