Transportation to Molokai

Aside from Flying this is the only way to get to Molokai. The ferry leaves from Lahaina and arrives in Kaunakakai Harbor about 2 hours later.

Today was the last day of service. They will be open to process refunds through mid December. Guided tours are still offered to Kalaupapa by air service. Too bad, this was a fun way to get to Molokai, especially for camping.

We got to sit on deck going to Molokai and it was very pleasant. Molokai itself is rather an ugly stepsister to most of the other Islands. Not that much to see on the Island. The trip back was horrible. An old shoulder/neck injury was aggravated by the major wave action. Although I wasn't sick, It left me feeling nauseated... More

We wanted to go to Molokai so we took this ferry tour. It was a nice tour but I wish the water had been calmer. Even though I got seasick for the first time in my life, I still had a good time. It was awesome seeing how Hawaii looked in the olden days-so no complaints. But next time I... More

We did the organised day trip to Molokai- The Alii Molokai. The ferry took about 2 hours to get over and was abit rocky the day we went. When we got off the ferry we were met by our tour guide Chadd. He was a great tour guide a true local so really knew the island and most of the... More

Wish I had read reviews of the ferry ride to realize how choppy it can be. I would have spent the extra planning and dollars to fly instead. The day we went was just miserable: flying is more predictable.

The crossing is a time to relax. The tour with a local guide was most informative. A great way to learn od the island and have a trip back into how Hawaii use to be and how we still wish it was

We hopped onto the Molokai ferry for a day trip; it's the only affordable way between Maui and Molokai, full of residents coming back with shopping, mixed in with us tourists. On the island we met up with our tour guide and bus driver for a many-hour tour that provided an excellent introduction to the whole island, giving us ideas... More

I agree with other recent reviews - neither my husband or I ever get motion sickness, but there certainly were time on this boat ride that we were both feeling nauseous & my husband felt sick for about 24 hours afterwards. That being said, we loved the ferry ride - sun shining down, wind on our faces, rolling side-to-side with... More

I really want everyone to understand that this is a very very rough ride, especially on the way back. Even if you think "I never get sea sick, I'll be fine." Wrong! The sea is very choppy and while the captain does his best to maneuver around, you will be bobbing up and down and back and forth. I have... More
