The Bay Course opened in 1975 and in that time has hosted over 20 major professional tournaments - the most of any neighbor island course in the state of Hawaii. From the first live prime-time televised event in golf at the 1983 Kapalua International to the Kapalua LPGA classic some 25 years later, The Bay Course has consistently faced the best players in golf and withstood the test of time and technology. The Bay Course is a championship course that is as challenging as it is beautiful. Known for its breathtaking 5th hole, the only hole to play over the ocean on Maui, it should certainly be on the "must play" list for any golfer visiting Maui.

Golf at the gorgeous, challenging Kapalua Bay Course was a once in a lifetime experience when we saw two whales breaching just off the par 3. Hard to concentrate on putting with a marine show going on just yards away. Made for a memorable round.

Wow this course kicked my butt, and offered quite the challenge along with picture postcard views. Some tough holes due to winds from the bay, helpful staff for the most part except for the totally not friendly fellow who checked us in which didn't start us off with a great first impression. But once we got to our cart and... More

The course was excellent! I played the Plantation course a few days later but the views on the Bay course are much more beautiful. The greens and fairways were in tournament condition. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back.

Awesome golf course and really well maintained. Complimentary golf carts, complete with ice bucket & water, and large golf GPS.

Ladies, do not wear anything that cannot survive the wind! Having said that, staff were friendly and helpful. Renting clubs easy. Course was pretty empty, in good condition, and challenging for all levels (left a few balls in the lake on #16!!). Restaurant was great for pre round breakfast and post game pupu and drinks. Great views as well!

I thought I was compromising by playing Bay because Plantation is being aerated, but to my surprise I had a great time and the course was excellent. Nice collection of interesting holes, some by the ocean, one tee shot over a small lagoon, and several inland holes w interesting challenges. Wind was blowing even though it was morning which made... My wife and I played here on our honeymoon, the service from the pro shop was spot on, they made us feel likes professionals and even gave us custom engraved bag tags for our rental clubs. The course plays well even when soak and wet, it rained the majority of days prior and the day of and the course played... More

At the same price as the plantation course I feel this course doesn't make the cut. Some great holes with ocean views but in general not very interesting and a lot less well maintained than its bigger brother.

I was only in Maui for 2 days but if you are a golfer you must go to Kapalua Golf resort. While most people want to play the Plantation course, I was unable to due to time constraints. I found the Bay Course to be a great alternative. The course was extremely well maintained and was challenging for the intermediate... More

Very well maintained with some incredibly scenic holes (Nos. 4, 5 over the ocean, and 9 in particular). A little pricey but a nice challenge for the 12-20 handicapper. Lower h'caps might find it a little short but when the wind is blowing (and that is usually), it challenges most of us!
