Kamaole 3 was right across the road from our condo. We found a little spot at the far south end of the beach that was sheltered if it was windy (beware of the path over the rocks that leads further south). While there are rocks at this end of the beach there are also areas of sand where you can... More

A really beautiful gem of a beach just outside of Wailea in Kihei. Spend the day, there is a parking lot and a hotel with a pleasant restaurant (5 Palms) that feels like a bit of old style Hawaii. Our kids love the body surfing at this scenic spot and it is a smaller beach and not taken over by... More

This is a very accessible beach popular for sunset viewing. It has lifeguards, big waves, and soft sand. There are picnic tables in the shade for enjoying any meal. It is across the street from some great eateries, with take out food. There are rock reefs on the right end of the beach that are good for snorkeling. It is... More

This beach was across the road from our condo. Spent many evenings and days here over our three week stay in Maui. It gets crowded on weekends as there is plenty of grass and shade above the beach for families to picnic on. The upper area seems a very popular spot for birthday parties. The sand is lovely and the... More

Along the beach there is a trail with plaques with information about local wildlife and history, it's pretty too.

This smaller semi-protected beach in Kihei is wonderful for swimming ( watch the shore break). soaking up the sun, and even avoiding the sticky sand as it has a large green space just above the beach. Even if you are not an ocean swimmer you may catch a glimpse of a sea turtle at either end of the beach by... More

Of course, any beach in Maui is better than a lot of beaches elsewhere. But in this case, there were empty wine bottles, jeans drying on trees and a homeless person in their jeep parked street side. I was trying to snorkel there, but really couldn't do it because the bottom is muddy and covered in sharp lava boulders. Nothing... More

We did some snorkeling here one afternoon and it was lots of fun. Entry to the beach area was easy and there was quite a bit of available parking as well, which made toting our beach accessories easier.

Sitting by the ocean enjoying the gorgeous views of the water, the surfers and paddle boarders along with the occasional whales before watching the beautiful sunsets...fun...fun...fun!!!
