It is a little difficult to this Hawaiian Cultural Experience led by the magical Vene. It is an absolute joy to experience. Stories and songs provide information and understanding of a people that care about the earth, ocean and also each other. We listened as we paddled out into the ocean and viewed the coastline from the water and then... More

If you're looking to get immersed in the canoe culture of Hawaii, this is the activity for you. After getting an education on the restoration of the fish pond and the importance of it to the people of Maui, we went out for a paddle where we saw plenty of whales and turtles at a safe distance. Our guides, Vene... More

My wife and I went on this tour several years ago, and have returned two more times with other guests. We plan to return again on our next trip with other friends. It is always a highlight of our Maui vacations. Plus, your money goes to a good, non-profit cause that helps the locals.

This was a fantastic trip. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about Hawaiian culture and history. He sang, chanted and spoke Hawaiian- it was beautiful. He was respectful and fun! We had a lesson on team paddling and then out onto the ocean. I can't wait to share this experience with my son and future daughter in law. Mahalo.

We launched our outrigger canoe in the sandy shallows of a restored fish pond. Our canoe held 5 plus our guide, Kimokeo Kapahulehua, a talented and dedicated Hawaiian elder who has spearheaded fishpond and language cultural revivals within Hawaii's schools. He sang traditional and new mele (with a beautiful voice) and spoke of the revival of Polynesian navigation throughout the... More

The best experience we have had on Maui in all of our years coming to Maui. It was a fantastic cultural and marine experience. Our guide Vene was incredible. He gave us a real feel for Maui's history, and culture. He was a talented story teller of the history and people of Maui. He sang songs, did chants, and even... More

Activity for the whole family. Great cultural adventure-learning about the ancient (and still around) fish ponds and then going out in an outrigger and paddling by turtles, catching the waves and learning about the ancient culture.

I had some family and friends visiting Maui and they wanted to do something fun and cultural. I had heard about this place through a friend but never has experienced what they offer. It was such an amazing experience we learned so much about the Hawaiian culture and the paddling was exciting and fun. We learned a few different Hawaiian... More

Whole family enjoyed this, learning the history of the fish ponds, walking the pond and seeing the turtles, then taking the outrigger out, singing the whole way. Our guide was magnificent, even even getting the teenagers excited!

Thank Art C
