Getting up at 2:00 a.m. puts off a lot of people. Watching the sun rise at Haleakala is worth it. Mountain Riders was a great experience. Our guide, Bobby, and driver, Dante, were fun and made the trip memorable. My three children (17, 15, and 12) had a blast and couldn't stop talking about it afterwards. I would recommend this... I found this Company on Adventure/Maui. After researching similar tours, I chose Mountain Riders. My wife and I had the time of our lives!! Rob our driver/Bob our tour guide were very professional and great fun. We both are 55+ and average bike riders. READ all the details (which are well explained) as to what to expect weather wise/what to... More

As a non bike rider I was quite nervous about taking this tour, however it turned out to be one of the highlights of our whole trip! Our guide was fantastic and incredibly knowledge and conscious of all the riders and the van driver and he had constant communication and were amazing throughout the whole morning. At one of the... Hadn't been on a bike in more than 20 years! The guides were the best, having the van follow the group was great to, the driver was in communication with the lead bike guide keeping us all safe from passing cars. The views were awesome, very little peddling as it as all downhill. Sharp windy road but worth it and... More

Try telling people you are getting up at 0200 to see the sunrise from a volcano and they will say you are nuts! WELL we did I and we are very glad we did I. MOuntain Riders picked us up at our hotel at 0245 and bussed us up the mountain to see the sunrise come up over the mountain.... More

We were driven up to the top of Haleakala to see the sunrise, which was beautiful, but seriously, bring so many layers of clothing that it will feel ridiculous, but you will be thankful when you're up there. Also bring hotel blankets, and although it feels weird bringing beanies and scarves to Hawaii, do it. Mountain Riders were well prepared... More

Just finished the sunrise tour. While there were 45 mph winds at the crater, the sunrise was awesome, first time i've seen a sunrise like that. The ride down was a lot of fun, we got lucky with a group of people that knew how to ride bikes so we went at a good pace. Jo (sp?) and Marlin (sp?)... More

My family of 6 used Mountain Riders because they go all the way to the summit and escort all the way down. Most of us did this bike ride before, but we felt that it would be safer for the newbies. With Dante in the chase van and Elvin leading the way, we felt totally safe and in good hands.... More

We did the sunrise tour. Absolutely worth getting up at 2:00am. Dress in layers, be sure to have short/sleeveless shirt at the base. The jacket they give you is pretty warm but hoodie sweatshirt & hat are advised. The pants are wind pants but you'll appreciate having shorts under neigh for latter part of the ride. They also provide gloves.... More

If you're looking for some family fun while in Maui look no further than Mountain Riders ride down the volcano. Don't let the 26 mile ride down scare you away. Virtually no pedaling involved and fast and fun, but not scary. Driving down from the brisk chilly temperatures to ending at the beach for a delicious bite in the local... More
