Probably the most adventurous thing to do without zip lining or going on a major hike. Not worth the drive to get there.

This is a stop that I feel too many people pass by, but it is well worth taking the time to experience it. The guide here is such a great guy to talk to and shares everything about how the tube was formed and how he has cleaned it up to make it such an attractive spot to visit. There... More

Our family loved exploring the Hana Lava Tube. It was the highlight of our road to Hana trip! The owner was super-friendly and knowledgeable! The tunnel was bigger than we thought it would be. It is very well marked in the tunnel, and well maintained. I thought it was worth the drive and the small cost, considering the work that... More

Interesting but not really worth $12.50 per person. You descend down stairs into the lava tube and walk along the cave/tube about a quarter of a mile. Good marking of what you're seeing. Then turn around and return the way you came. Takes about 30 minutes.

We stopped because it was listed as one of the top 10 things to see on the road to Hana. We drove the road backwards so needed to be picky about where we stopped to be sure we were back on the main road before dark. Aside from my wife's trepidation about being underground we took the flashlights proffered and... More

This was our second time visiting. We have been with and without our kids. The initial descent is a bit challenging and not suitable for those that have physical limitations. Once in the tube there are several markers that give information. There are a lot of different things to view within the tube in respect to volcanos and lava flow.... More

Do the maze first on a hot day. The lava tube is pitch black in most places, but you get a flashlight! There are so many interesting things to see! It's a great escape from the sun!

This is really interesting self guided tour through a very large cave formed by a lava tube. They give you a very powerful flashlight and the work is not too strenuous. It is comfortable not to cold or too damp And please be sure to turn out your flashlight for a second to see what pitch dark really is. The... More

I loved going here for a change of pace! I was a little worried about the damp, dark space but I didn't have any problems. We paid and the woman handed us two flashlights and sent us on our way. I was thinking someone was coming with us! I joked and asked her if she would come find us if... More

For 2 or 3 years in a row we drove by this attraction without stopping. If only we had known what we were missing! The operators provide you with a direction and a flashlight to explore this awesome lava tube. As far as I am concerned the Hana Lava Tube is far superior to the famous Thurston lava tube on...
