After that long epic drive you are welcomed into the quiet little bay, boasting some of the most amazing views and yummy snacks. I suggest if you are still interested in stretching your legs to take the hike to the red sand beach located only a few mins west of the bay. We did the drive once in the early... More

Hana itself is not spectacular but the road from Paia to Hana is unforgetable. I'd recommend travelling on a guided bus if you are the least bit uncomfortable on narrow twisty roads with 20 - 25 MPH speeds. If you drive yourself,as I did, consider purchasing an online guide for the road. It enhances the trip. Expect to take 3... More

Great place to relax after a long drive There are public restrooms, a cute little restaurant, lots of picnic tables (inc some under shade). There's also the Black Sand beach which is gorgeous. Take some time and go for a dip. There are also showers to rinse off afterwards which is a thoughtful touch

Each time we come to Hana we make a point of going for a walk around the bay. It is one of the most relaxed places I know, there is little that is really spectacular but the place shouts calmness (if you see what I mean). Always a warm greeting from the people of Hana too. Super place

If you are desperate to get to a beach while in Hana, this is probably where most folks go. Not much in the way of facilities there. And not huge sand areas. However, while more crowded of course, nicer beaches on the West side of the Island. When in Hana, go explore the cacao (chocolate) farms, bamboo forest hikes (amazing!),... More

Hana Bay is an ideal location for a picnic lunch or dinner - facilities are adequate, but you may be squeezed out by the locals who get there first.

This is where we turned around and headed back to Lahaina from driving the infamous road to Hana. I wish we could have kept going, but we started the trip later in the day. So special!

617 hairpin turns+ 54 one car bridges- the scenic route - beautiful rugged road definitely worth the trip- beautiful black lava beach at end of trek

My partner and I chose this place as our pitstop during our drive. So glad we did as it's stunning. Not the most cleanest of beaches but it had beautiful surroundings.
