It’s about a half-hour drive from Lanai City on paved road until the last 1.5 miles, which require a four-wheel vehicle to navigate the dirt road and cratered terrain. Thank God for You Tube, as I needed to get up to speed on how to...More

has a nice view of an old wreck. Very rocky and hard to hike towards. Very sad to say that there is TONS of garbage all over the place both on the trail and on the beach here.

Take your Jeep North to shipwreck beach. Just go slow and enjoy to beauty of this precious Island. Awful windy but just put up with it. The hike to the rusting hulk was great, but a lot of evidence of mans pollution of the sea.

This was yet another interesting (and beautiful) spot on our day-long tour of the island. Our guide (and driver), Bruce, pulled into a private area (belonging to a friend of his); which gave us a wonderful, and secluded, view of the wreck, waves and ocean....More

The beach is pretty but you may have to climb some rocks to get to see the ship wreck. There is a trail to petrogliphs here but it is hot and the drawings are faint. Take water. Good snorkeling here.

But worth the trip. Beautiful area. You really need a Jeep to get there. You walk in when the road stops. Most of the people we talked to said to go here before you go to the garden of the Gods.... You may run out...More

A fun drive with a jeep. The water was a clear blue and excellent for wading as the reef appeared to keep the waves off the beach. The backdrop of the old shipwreck was breathtaking.

How long does it take to hike there and do you need a specific type of vehicle?

The very unhelpful truth is, "it depends". It depends where you park, how far you have to walk. Where you park depends on the recent rains. So you will have to gauge it when you get there. As you drive down, ask the folks... More
