Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed on Lanai and flew in after the fires on Maui, although we were supposed to stay in Lahaina but our hotel was destroyed. This was a very pretty harbor and bay area, but the ferries were not coming in while we were there. We understand they were running, but clearly did not have a reason to run as often as usual. You can come here for some shopping and food if you go to the general store in the harbor, which has a mix of tshirts, food, trinkets, etc. There was one other gentleman at the harbor outside when we were there, so we just sat on the benches and stared out at the ocean for a while.

Nice harbor. The ferry boat from Lahina comes in daily. And the Lanai catamaran for snorkeling and sunset cruises departs as well. Easy access and has shad if you are waiting on the ferry. Nice

Waiting in the covered pavillion with lots of seating sure beats standing in the sun on the Lahaina dock. There are restrooms and a general store but unfortunately it was closed due to the virus.

The passenger ferry from Lahaina docks here. The harbor facilities are great with a large restroom, a convenient store, and a covered shelter. Not too far from the harbor is the lovely Manele beach (12-15 minute walk). And, then from the beach is the short, wonderful trail to Sweetheart Rock.

Lanai is a piece of untouched, beautiful old Hawaii. The harbor is organized and clean, with a terrific little store for all your needs, including the local Hana Tonic (ginger and other natural ingredients) for motion sickness!

Love this harbor! The best way to reach Lanai is by ferry IMHO. The trip is short and beautiful, and the price is right.

Arriving by ferry from Lahaina, our first impression of Lanai was formed by the landing at Manele Harbor. It is a compact, neat and tidy place, with spectacularly gorgeous flowers everywhere. The facilities are modern and well kept with everything you need for a landing or departure. The small store has both staples and souvenirs and was fun to browse while we waited for the return ferry. A very good first impression and last glimpse of a low-key, fun, neat and tidy island.

Our port of entry into Lanai'i. Manele General Store, Shuttle Service and Ferry Staff made our one day visit complete. Helpful suggestions, directions and service allowed us to visit the Cat Sanctuary, home of 593 cats successful. Thanks to all.

If you take the ferry from Maui, you WILL get to see the MSBH. Our driver got us back to the harbor well in time to get the ferry so we had lots of time to poke around the harbor and check out the place. Not much shaking but a really neat place for a short visit.
