You cannot come to this Island and not experience this gorgeous place. You can hike if you so choose, or just look at this amazing canyon. The scenery in all directions is so awesome, so take lots of pictures.

You flew all this way, and if the day is clear (...get up and look at the mountains and if there are minimal clouds above the mountains - get in the car), this is a MUST DO ACTIVITY. The best advice we received from a...More

we took the 11.5 round trip into the valley and river, didn't complete it as the 2.5 miles down was a 3,000 drop, and a slog back up, but a great canyon to camp over night next time

First, you do not need to pay for a tour to see the canyon, it is a state park with a large lookout of the top of the road, and several smaller ones on the way up. The canyon itself is truly awesome, in some...More

Visiting Waimea Canyon when in Kauai is an absolute must! The nickname "The Grand Canyon of the Pacific" almost doesn't do it justice. The views are incredible and breathtaking. It's a slow, winding road to the top, but is definitely worth the drive up.

One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. A must see location. See it from the roadside look outs or hike, but see it!

This is a place that you DO NOT want to miss. Simply amazing views. You do not need to take a helicopter ride. Save your money if you have doubts for riding a helicopter.

Quick stop at side of the road to see very pretty red dirt falls as well as pretty view of other side of the road.

This is a spectacular canyon, even on a very cloudy, moist day. There is a parking lot with a paved trail (with ramps if needed) that leads to a viewing area with a great view up and down the canon. Unfortunately the day we went...More

We did the canyon trail. It takes you to the top of the waterfall. It is 1.8 miles one way. It was a great hike. It's mostly down hill to the falls and then mostly up on the way back. There are two falls. It was pretty... More
