Breathtakingly majestic views of skillfully carved terrain with terra-cotta stained rock. Clouds caressing the top peaks and green vegetation adding additional colors & textures. It's truly a must see.

This is my 5th trip to Kauai. My 3rd to the Canyon. It's truly amazing and one of a kind. The colors and formations are like no other Canyon I've seen! If you are staying on the North side, it's a long drive down -...More

Dramatic views of the canyon all along the 1.5 hour drive to the top. Pull over and get out. The colors and terrain are overwhelmingly beautiful. Hope to get lucky at the top last two stops for a panoramic vista over the NaPali coast. Can...More

As others have written, the views from the view points are amazingly beautiful. My only regret is that we didn't go earlier in the day. The top view point was obscured by clouds. A local told us that you need to get there by 9...More

Incredibly beautiful! 100% worth the trip. You have to pass all the lookout points along the way before you get to the best views.

It truly is as good as the Grand Canyon. Take time to complete the full drive and use all the stop offs

A winding long drive, but do not miss the opportunity. The views are spectacular much like the Grand Canyon. Drive up early to avoid cloud cover.

We just got back from Kauai and had a 4 door Malibu Sedan. We drove to Waimea canyon and all the lookouts and then up to the Princeville area with no need for an SUV.
