NTBG’s McBryde Garden is located on the south shore of Kauai in the picturesque Lawai Valley. Tours run daily and include a ride from the Visitors Center in Poipu along a scenic coastal route and continue along the valley rim on a former sugarcane train railbed. Visitors disembark on the valley floor to explore this outstanding garden, known for its diverse collection of tropical plants. McBryde, NTBG’s flagship garden, is home to the world’s largest collection of native Hawaiian flora, many endangered or having gone extinct in the wild. It is a “botanical ark”, filled with palms, flowering trees, ornamental flowers, and unusual plants from the tropical world.National Tropical Botanical Garden is a nonprofit institution, dedicated to saving and studying tropical plants.

This is much more than a lot of beautiful and unusual plant life, although there is more of that than you could imagine. The various, easy trails explore all kinds of stories about the development of plant life over millions of years, the crop plants...More

Beautiful garden with lovely grounds and easy to walk. The store is a super place to purchase seeds and souvenirs for your family and friends that enjoy plants.

Part of the Allerton gardens but I couldn’t tell the difference or when one ended and the other began. Regardless it is a great place for a guided tour and a visit to a small but pleasant waterfall.

We had a very nice time doing the self guided tour. It was very peaceful and the plants were beautiful. Most were marked but not all. Allow several hours to see the entire garden. The drive up was informative and beautiful.

Beautiful garden. Self-guided tour after shuttle takes you to entrance. We only had 2 hours and easily needed twice that. Gorgeous orchids, flowering trees, 5 different paths/gardens to choose from. Restrooms and snacks available

I've visited this garden a few times now and always enjoy it. It has enough plants to be interesting and has never been seriously crowded, which is a nice break.

Aloha Cindy - We do not have any Rainbow Eucalyptus tress in the McBryde Garden, but we do have a few at the South Shore Visitors Center. They are such a beautiful tree!
