Not something you see everyday. Worth the trip. You don't have to go for a hike, you can see all aspects at several stops and from the top. The drive is a little tough if you get car sick. Very windy. There is a little...More

Beautiful and amazing. Very rugged. Do not go if you're not sure on your feet. Wear rugged hiking shoes if you want to get down to the good stuff.

Nice easy hike from Shipwreck Beach. Must hike on the golf course for a bit due to eroding cliffs - do not test! This is a nice different view of landscape - there are beaches / cliffs of petrified sandstone instead of lava.

Stunning views from the trail running above the cliffs. The trail is a little hard to follow but the views are something else. We didn't get to finish because of rain but it was worth it.

Strong swimmers will easily get back to shore. A 2 minute walk from the beach up the rock. As safe as could be. No lifeguard.

Great place to stretch your legs and take in some of Kauai's nicest views all at once. This can be anything from a pretty easy hike to quite challenging if you choose to climb down to some of the rocky beaches. An excellent whale-watching site,...More

Great day hike that we stumbled upon -- starts at Shipwreck Beach and leads you to remote and lovely beaches, bays, and other sights

I checked out Makawehi Lithified Cliffs to have a go at the many fish you can easily spot with polaroid glasses from the cliff tops. Some adventurous souls have even drilled holes at the top of the cliffs right in the black basalt to hold...More
