Wailua Falls was made famous by being at the beginning of every episode of Fantasy Island when the actor Herve Villechaize shouted out "De plane, boss, de plane" as a new set of visitors arrived. So these falls bring back a memory for those of...More

The drive up to Wailua Falls is definitely worth it! The beauty and enormity of the Falls is breathtaking. The rainbow from the Falls just added to the magic!

We arrived in Kauai earlier in the morning tried to do some quick stops on the island before our check into the hotel in Papas. There are some pretty good curves in terms before you come to the falls with very very limited parking with...More

Even though the parking lot was small, the view was great. No hiking needed. Easy quick stop. The day we went, there were people selling fresh coconuts near the parking lot. There were chickens everywhere and lots of open parking spots. We were on our...More

It's easy to reach the point of view by the road. The road stops just at the parking after the falls. Impressive falls, unfortunately only one point of view. Except if you succeed to go to the pool (two people were there, so its possible)...More

Great stop to see a 300 foot waterfall. Only about 4 miles off the main road and well worth the stop. Parking was limited but a great view of the waterfall and the lagoon below. It does not appear you can hike down to the...More

We swung by Wailua Falls to check it out, not expecting much. Most of the waterfalls I have visited on the islands have involved hiking in for the view. This was accessible via car, with a parking lot, and then the very nice view. There...More

This hike was the easiest of all the waterfalls to visit because you can see it from the road. Such a large and beautiful fall.

After a hike, this was a gem! Cooling off in this beautiful natural fall was so much fun! It's rocky so I recommend water shoes.

We kayaked the river and hiked to the falls. It was self guided and we had no trouble finding the secret falls. Very muddy as it had rained heavily two days before, but well worth it.

You can check out the falls from the road. If there is a tyrail it will be a big downhill and probably steep down and tough to get back up. There are falls nearby that have a nice easy hike: I think the name is Hookipa... More

It's not particularly steep, but can be problematic during rainy periods. Active terms and adults should have no problems. Then there's the nice dip in the pool at the end.
