Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Located a short distance from Lihue airport at the end of Ahukini road, this area provides a great site for photography. Whether the waves crashing over the jetty or against the rocks or of the old railroad pier itself. Also a great place to come fishing. There is no food or restroom facilities at this location.

We hung out here and walked around. Great place to repax before your flights. The views are incredible and the pier is cool to see.

This is a public fishing pier worth exploring if you are out and about by the airport. We walked over the pier along a safe walkway. The most interesting part was viewing the fish in the water below. Saw what looked to be like 2 sting rays. There's also a beach across the way which looked interesting.

This pier is very close to the airport and it's a nice spot to check out, as this is where the cane sugar used to be delivered on conveyer belt systems (no longer visible) to waiting cargo ships. Now it is mainly used by locals for a place to catch large Mackeral.

The picture you see tells it all. The exposed concrete piers with water below are a hazard, especially for daring youngsters. I visited the site, and I couldn't discern any redeemable value for going here.

Like to go crabbing?, night diving for sweet lipper lobster? or search for old bottles from the Chineese Camp of yesteryear?! You found it. An unkept, obscure place where time stood still. Good place to be alone or with some old folks that silently remember the past. Bring your cooler and your fishing pole and Relax!

We wanted to make sure we weren’t late for our flight but ended up at the Airport Area a bit early. I spotted this on the map and so we decided to check it out. It was a great place to check out the tidepools and look for interesting critters. The beach area was made of Lava that had obviously been frozen in place as it cooled or hit the water. We saw lots of tiny fish, a few Sea Urchins and some type of Sea Cucumber and some other really large slug type creature in the tidepools. You have to look carefully though because they blend in really well. I wish the sunset had been more colorful that night. You are on a point with views all around and it would have made nice photos.

Just a heads up!!
KPD received a report of a robbery that occurred at Ahukini Landing in Līhu‘e on Nov. 13 at 8:40 p.m. A man fitting Sateki Nisa’s description held the operator of a Toyota Corolla at gunpoint and took off with the vehicle. No injuries were reported.

This should not be called a recreational area. It's a place to go fish on some ruins of a pier. Please drive slow down the whole road to get here, as there's lots of homeless people and little cats that have been dumped here and get run over often. They replaced the parking lot but that's about it. Don't try snorkeling here or anything. Water is polluted

5- We needed to kill 30 minutes before a helicopter tour and this was a great place to do it. We saw crabs and fish from the pier and talked with a friendly local fisherman. Beautiful views. Easy parking and turn around.
