What a muddy and cool experience on Kauai river. Our guide was really cool but really talkactive. The snacks were good and the fall a bit too crowded.

We loved every second of this tour!! Getting ready was easy, the river kayaking was super gentle which made it so much fun and the hike was not too bad. I will say we are of average fit and spots of the hike could be...More

Awesome kayak of the Napali Coast with our guide Brian. Nothing better than going out on the water with a guide who knows the the island and the surf. Funny, informative and a totally rad island kinda guy. As he said if you give aloha,...More

The 10-mile Napali trip with Kayak Kauai was awesome. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it turned out to be an amazing day and unforgettable experience. So glad we did this trip. Our guide was excellent. The experience: It lived up to everything you...More

We originally booked the 6 hour version of this trip with hike to the Sacred Falls, but due to very heavy rains, the trail was closed. So, we rebooked with what was available - a 2 hour kayak only tour instead. Our family with two...More

Aloha Courtney, When the weather throws us "lemons" we try to make lemonade. Glad you enjoyed your abbreviated tour of the Wailua River. In those instances when rain can make the trail and stream crossing to the Falls dicey, often enough the main water way...More

This tour was by far the best experience of our Kauai trip. It was a beautiful day, so the waters were calm and easy to maneuver. Even so, our guides (Dan and Brian) made sure that safety was a top concern and that we were...More

Wow ....I want to go! The creation of this tour was a reaction to the April floods which closed the road and access to the the traditional longer and more challenging sea kayak paddle from Ha'ena to Polihale. It looks like even when the road...More

2 miles up the river on double kayaks at your own speed. Beautiful and calm water way. About 1 -2 mile hike up to waterfall for lunch and a swim. The waterfall was awesome. Lunch was excellent. Our guide Zack stopped us many times along...More

Aloha Gretchen, Glad to hear that Zack is doing a great job. Unfortunately Zach does not work at Kayak Kaua'i. Good to know Zach is doing a good as do most of the guides who ply the Wailua River on the way to the Sacred/Secret...More

My family and I did the Kayak and Hike adventure. It was really a lot of fun, but not sure this is for anyone. Positives from this excursion was getting out on the water and hiking to a 150FT water fall, where you can swim...More

Aloha Kipewing, One reason we insist on double kayaks on this tour is that it breaks up the effort and makes the 45 minute paddle each way..."easier". Been a rainy summer and the trail remains on the soggy side, but which does prime the waterfall....More

With the Kalalau trail inaccessible due to the flood damage to the Kuhio Highway, my wife and I were left with 2 options to see the legendary Na Pali coast: an hour in a helicopter vs a day paddling a kayak. Obviously we chose the...More

Aloha T., We are grooming Lisa as a Na Pali guide and in the interim lucky to have her guiding on our Wailua River Sacred Falls tour. Dan and Brian make a good team for many of the reasons you stated. Not mutually exclusive to...More

All the companies have similar names. Be sure that you choose the one that is off the beaten track, KAYAK WILUA on Haleilio Road, Kapaa, which we found to be the most reliable and professional. We are new residents here and dreamed of kayaking the...More

Aloha Carole, Nice to know that Kayak Wailua is doing a good job. We are Kayak Kaua'i and flattered you got us mixed us mixed up with them. If truth be told most of the companies on the Wailua River do an excellent job and...More

You won't get dirty necessarily. However, we went to the Marriott and they let us use a hospitality suite for $30 to shower and change. There are other hotels close by that may have the same deal.

Cliff jumping is precarious on all Hawaiian waterfalls. Rotten rock and shallow pools. If you do ...make sure you buy a wheel chair in case you survive. Micco
