Have been going to visit Monastery for years. Beautiful and peace-filled. Years ago you could wander the grounds during your tour, they keep you more confined now. Love to see the monastery being constructed. Definitely worth checking it out!

We went here on a rainy day to see the actual temple only to find that you cannot go anywhere near the new one. We saw the old one and it was interesting. The bronze sculptures and the story of how the temple is being...More

Stumbled upon this temple and was so glad! Just 15 minutes of walking around the place and I felt calm and rejuvenated. I could sit under that banyan tree all day. They have sarongs for you to cover up with if you're wearing shorts, sleeveless...More

My husband and I were in awe of the Banyan trees and the beautiful energy at Kauai's Hindu Monastery. Can't wait to return and take another stroll through the Rudraksha Forest!

All the adjectives you've read in the other reviews are correct: beautiful, serene, inspiring, tranquil, gorgeous, healing, etc. I have nothing but admiration for this wonderful place. The problem, as usual, is human. We took the (reservation-only) guided tour, which is the only way to...More

We went on a rainy day, but it was still very special. Beautiful gardens and views. This is a spiritual oasis in a busy town. Great gift shop/bookstore too.

Fire up your GPS. There are no signs pointing the way to Kauai's Hindu Monastery located at the end of a residential street about 4 miles west of Kapa'a. The monastery is open to the public only from 9am to noon. There is a worship...More

THere are sarongs to wear if you are not dressed properly and will be asked to remove shoes during prayer areas. Beautiful place to embrace another form of religion.

The monastery is a stunningly beautiful place. The gardens, grounds and streams are simply spectacular as is the granite temple that they have been working on since the 1990's. The guided tour is well worthwhile and the guide we had patiently answered all questions and...More
