Had perfect weather for a trip up the river to Secret Falls. 45-60 minutes of kayaking up river, with a nice tailwind. Beached the kayaks and hiked for 30-45 minutes. Easy hike, but it was dry. Lots of spots that would be tough on a...More

This kayak/hiking excursion to the Secret Falls is fantastic! Our tour guide Brian was a wonderful leader and only made the tour better. I highly recommend you are in good shape for this tour! It's about 4 1/2 miles (total) of kayaking and just over...More

Duke's is a small operation. It seems literally to be out of someone's garage. But they provide everything (except snacks...bring your own). We got Miguel. I had heard good things about Brian, but he didn't do our trip. Miguel was certainly nice enough, and knew...More

The morning tour is the way to go, get up early and hit Java kai for breakfast then go right across the street to Dukes. The afternoon sun gets really hot and the wind picks up and rowing gets harder. If you make it to...More

A fun trip up the river. Then an adventurous hike through the jungle before reaching the water fall. Our guide was very informative and fun to be with.

All of the comments about the fun, beauty and experience made previously are all true. This review is for our guide, Brian, and his excellent manner and customer service. He told us about birds, flowers, pigs, geese, Hawaiian lore, movie scenes shot there and everything...More

This was our first time kayaking-we had a great time. The river was very calm and surrounded by beautiful greenery. The hike was also a lot of fun- a bit muddy though but was expected as we read other reviews earlier. Bring water-proof shoes preferably...More

This kayak-hike tour is beautiful, physical, messy and fun. It would be a difficult adventure, though, for anyone with physical limitations (especially shoulders, knees and legs) or issues with mud! But if you decide not to care that you are sloshing your way up to...More

Miguel was a kind and caring guide. It was a perfect day, a little downpour on the hike back but we were wet and just laughed it off. We had one woman that was having a tough time with the hike, but Miguel and everyone...More

I'm thinking you could probably rent kayaks and do the river on your own. There is also the Wailua river where you can go kayaking, and if you can be there when the sea is calmer than on our last trip, there is always Napali... More

Yes. Swimming is optional at the waterfall, but not required. These kyacks are not the kind that tip.

It is a lot of walking. The terrain is muddy and can be quite slippery. Parts of the trail are very narrow with drop-offs on the side. The pathway is both uphill and downhill at times. The kayaking part is strenuous as well... More
