I wanted to be awed by the views and by the pier. Instead I found myself being annoyed with the crowd and the lack of respect of the pier as people were smoking on it, bringing their animals out to it and young people running...More

Hanalei is one of my favorite places in the world. The view on the beach is breath taking. Depending on where you park it can quite a walk to the pier but with the views and the sound of the ocean you'll wonder how you...More

No matter how many times we've been here, we love coming back. (Although it's sad to see the older plantation style house replaced by "mansions") The Hanalei pier is surrounded by the beautiful blue ocean and framed by waterfall-lined mountains. Picturesque and the subject of...More

the pier may be the best place to appreciate the garden isle that Kauai is known to be (other than on a hike). The mountains, the water and the sand is all captured here so beautifully

Yes! Just grab a fishing license! (I am sure you could get away with not getting one but better safe than sorry because there are hefty fines for not having camping/fishing licenses on Kauai)
