Pretty much every view on Kauai is gorgeous, but this one is special because it shows the huge expanse of this northern valley. The plants here are much different from other areas of the island such as Waimea.
You absolutely should stop for photo ops if nothing else. This was not destroyed by flooding and does show you what Hanalei is all about.
I would recommend, as others have stated, easy to find, right near the shopping center in Princeville.

I had read so much about seeing this.. it is absolutely beautiful and different every time you stop by. It's amazing to think it was under water not that long ago. Make sure you stop and take a few pictures.
The overlook is simply a viewpoint or pullout at the side of the road. There are no trails or walkways involved. There are several places nearby in Princeville, in Hanalei or the lighthouse where you can walk with a pram.
