Scenic. Green. Lush! On a clear day, this lookout is so picturesque. Always worth a stop especially it's just a short detour.

Pretty much every view on Kauai is gorgeous, but this one is special because it shows the huge expanse of this northern valley. The plants here are much different from other areas of the island such as Waimea.

You absolutely should stop for photo ops if nothing else. This was not destroyed by flooding and does show you what Hanalei is all about. I would recommend, as others have stated, easy to find, right near the shopping center in Princeville.

I wouldn't go out of my way to see this, but if you are in the area, it's worth looking at. It's free and it's a beautiful view of the fields in the valley with the mountains in the backdrop.

Only parking for around 5 cars but what an amazing view. The best pictures are taken here of the valley, Mountains and the Bay and of coarse Hannalei.

We stopped at the Hanalei Valley Lookout on our first day in Kaua'i, and went back toward the end of our trip. We found it to be a nice panoramic look at the valley below, and the mountains across the valley. There is a small...More

My husband had never visited Kauai, and I told him about this lovely lookout before we every left home. Of course, there is no way to describe just how special this spot is! I was afraid there would be damage from the flood, but it...More

This is the best view of the north side of Kauai. Be careful in approaching the lookout, it is on a curve that is only reached when westward bound.

This is just a quick stop at one of the bends on the road. The view of Hanalei Valley is gorgeous! You can see the bay, the mountains, and part of the town. If you look south, you can see waterfalls high up in the...More

I had read so much about seeing this.. it is absolutely beautiful and different every time you stop by. It's amazing to think it was under water not that long ago. Make sure you stop and take a few pictures.

The overlook is simply a viewpoint or pullout at the side of the road. There are no trails or walkways involved. There are several places nearby in Princeville, in Hanalei or the lighthouse where you can walk with a pram.
