Nice Beach in Waikoloa

We had a brief stop at the beach. The day was very windy so we could not plant our umbrella. There is some shade. It is a nice broad beach and was not crowded.

This was a beach nice and close to the condo we were staying at. The wind picked up and was so bad it sand blasted us. We had to leave. We went back another calmer day and my friend stepped on a sea urchin where it was sandy - careful!! Reef shoes!!

This beach has lots of room to lay. Water was easy swimming. Found shells down by the walls. Members of a paddling club had their boats out in the evening. Very nice to watch them paddle. Great place for a sunset.

This beach is very nice and convenient, because it's close to the hotel area (just right behind Marriott). Actually the beach is partially under reconstruction due to the 2011 cunami, what demaged the fish ponds and the beach itself. The ocean is calm here, perfect for swimming, snorkeling. There is some shade, picnic tables, and some beach beds.

Great parking, great sand, great surf, wonderful wildlife, amenities, what more could you ask for, I'm not sure. This beach is a great beach because it offers everything one needs for a great day at the beach without it being crazy busy. The waves were huge off the shore and super fun to watch, there are water sport rentals and... More

We come to the Big Island for 2 weeks most years and spend most afternoons at the beach. Generally we go to this one because it has unlimited parking for non-resort guests. Access from the parking lot is easy (1/8 mile walk), there is a lot of shade on the beach, and the setting next to the King's Pond is... More

This is in front of the Marriott Waikoloa Hotel, beautiful beach with very calm swimming area. Great beach for watching the sunset or walking to the Lava Lava club for a drink.

The water was a little murky the day we visited, so snorkeling didn't reveal many fish. The surf was very gentle, so the smallest kids were happy in the sand. We were happy reading in lounge chairs for hours.

Behind the Marriott and in the center of Waikoloa Village, so the place is pretty much overrun with tourists morning to night. Rumor has it that the snorkeling isn't bad if you get there very early before all of the activity muddies the water.

Beautiful beach, relatively calm swimming area, fascinating archaeological fish ponds, intricate lava formations - this beach has most everything you'd want except great snorkeling. While the surf conditions were not ideal when we were there, several people told us that even under the best conditions, snorkeling was not that good. There are turtles in the area, however, and the whole... More
