Excellent botanical garden which runs all the way down to the ocean. Great examples of plants from around the pacific. Definitely worth a visit, even if you don’t have a green thumb.

Rain is common near Hilo. You can't let that prevent you from seeing things in Hawaii or you will never go outside. Rain usually doesn't last all day. Just be prepared.
